Lemon-aid

I know this has come up before but I can't find it..

It seems as though my hair won't get clean anymore with just CO washing. If i put lemon juice in it, my hair is not only clean but light and soft with lovely curls.

I've got my routine down to CO washing twice a week, and water washing once per week. I usually don't wash my hair at all on the weekends.

So, at least once per week, I will wash with lemon juice in my CO wash.

I also live in an area with very hard water.

Can you do too much lemon juice? Will it damage hair if used too often?

im not sure about damage, but i think that it does lighten your hair, maybe if you have colored hair? i've done the lemon-aid once...how are u using it? like it says in the curly girl book or do you use it your own way?

I am mixing it with my conditioner and then washing with that concoction.

I have no worries about lightening my hair, I'm a strawberry blonde and it could use some lightening.. I don't colour my hair.
