Suave Professionals Dry Conditioner?

I was just in my CVS and I noticed this product kind of tucked away on the bottom shelf. I looked at it for a while and thought it was such an interesting concept and made me excited because companies are paying more attention to curlies and wavies :) that plus it seemed like it was CG friendly. Has anyone tried this or seen it?

No experience with that, and haven't seen it in stores yet. I did check the Suave site, and the only dry professionals item I saw was a shampoo? It is CG, but the denatured alcohol might leave your hair a little dry.

I just saw this tonight at CVS- I thought it had the A-cone and I stopped reading the ingredients at that point...

I don't think any of the Suave Professionals products are CG. This sounds like it might be a good refresher product though. Let us know if you try it!

I'm pretty sure when I looked thru it, it looked CG; I was able to find a list of ingredients:
Hydrofluorocarbon, 152a Isobutane, SD Alcohol 40-B (Alcohol Denat.), Phenyl Trimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isopropyl Myristate, Propane, Butane, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Tocapheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shae) Oil, Silk Amino Acids.

It seems like it might be CG except for the bolded ones above; I'm not sure if those are CG friendly or not.

Not sure about the Phenyl Trimethicone, but I know Cycolopentasiloxane is not a CG friendly, water soluble cone. You'd need to low poo to remove it. Something with Cocamidopropyl Betaine would work.

I don't believe the trimethicone is CG at all. The cyclopentasiloxane I believe doesn't build up like most cones but has other possible issues associated with it. I remember seeing a link here a while back on it.

The dry shampoo, on the other hand, is cone free, but does have some alcohol.

It looks like (from what I found on another thread), Phenyl Trimethicone can be removed with: SLS, SLES, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocobetaine, ALS, or ALES.

As far as cyclopentasiloxane, another forum says: Cyclomethicone IS cyclopentasiloxane, and also cyclotetrasiloxane (just a smaller molecule). It's just another name for the same thing! Neither will build up on your hair, although they are not water soluble. The reason for this is that they evaporate. They do not remain on your hair. You need nothing to remove them because they do not remain on your hair. I know I have addressed this in an article, but it is still a huge point of confusion for folks.

The reason some find it makes their hair feel bad is that when it evaporates it can make your hair a tad dry and maybe mess with your cuticle layer a bit, just like alcohols that evaporate.

Also, according to all the research I have seen, all of the silicones can be removed just as efficiently by products containing cocamidopropyl betaine or coco betaine as by SLS or SLES.

So I guess as long as I use something (cowash or low poo) that has cocamidopropyl betaine, I'll be okay, it seems like.
