What are you baking this weekend?

My husband's birthday is Sunday (it's also President Lincoln's birthday!) so I'm baking a heart-shaped Bundt cake with lemon curd filling. I'm also macerating strawberries and blackberries to have with it.

    Yum!^

I'm baking biscuits. I can only go so long without them in the winter. Something about that buttermilk makes me say, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh."

How does your husband feel about having to compete with your man, Abe?

I am baking cookies with S and my niece tomorrow, and letting them decorate them. I will not be eating any of those. No matter how much hand washing goes on, I still don't trust cookies that have been mostly produced by small children.

For myself, I feel a pound cake coming on.

I'm baking strawberry cupcakes and making Transformers chocolate lollipops for my son's birthday party next weekend.

I love pound cake. Love it.

Some days I really miss sweets.

My weekends are Wednesday and Thursday, but tomorrow I'm actually baking some individual quark and ricotta pies with thyme and honey in cornmeal crust. On my actual weekend, there will be tahini brioche or butternut squash anpan, and fortune cookies. Possibly maple cookies.

Actually, I have been meaning to do this sour cream lemon-poppy cake for a whole and the sour cream is still there, so that will be on the schedule.

I made some egg free chocolate chip cookies for a playdate with a friend with allergies. They are made with cream cheese and taste good but the texture is off.

My husband baked for the first time ever! He made a "paleo" friendly cheesecake with an almond flour crust. It turned out really good, especially covered in berries.

I am not baking for valentine's day, we are making a chocolate fondue :)

My department at work is doing a bake sale fundraiser on Tuesday to raise money for the American Heart Association. I was asked to bake the butter cookies that I normally only make once a year for the holidays. I'm still undecided- it depends on the dating situation and the forcasted snow we're supposed to get. But if not German butter cookies, it will definitely be something else.

Felix is totally down with sharing a birthday with my man Abe! In fact, he's sad he didn't grow up in Illinois because he would've had his birthday off school every year. :)

Just say no to the child-made cookies. Yeesh.

Last weekend they made cookies as part of their Girl Scouts meeting. Fourteen little girls making cookies. Oh. Mah. Gah. You could not pay me to eat those. They did their own egg cracking so I can only imagine how much shell made it in, nevermind the sneezers.

Does it count as baking if the bread machine is doing the work?

If so, I'm baking a rustic French loaf.

I made the Pioneer Lady's Apple Dumplings. Good but a bit too sweet.

Interesting! What did he use as a substitute for cream cheese?
