Coconut oil as a conditioner?

Hi!
Right now, I'm no-pooing every other day with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, but I'm also using a rinse-out and a leave-in conditioner. Yesterday, my curls felt really, really dry, so I used coconut oil on my hair. It made it so much softer! Could I no-poo with Cetaphil, then use it as a rinse-out??

Well, I've used coconut oil in many ways, but never as a RO! I like using it as a pre-wash. I just apply it overnight and let it sit while I sleep and till I wash my hair the next morning, and it always works beautifully. But, I don't really think it would work as a RO. That could be quite a tricky (and greasy ;)) situation. I can tell you that I've added coconut oil TO my RO, and that worked very well. (I was having insane tangles and didn't know what else to do, ha ha.) So, I guess I would recommend trying that first. HTH!

Thanks for the help! I tried it last night as an RO...wow. My hair was so soft but a GREASE BALL. I definitely used too much. I had to shampoo twice this morning to get it out. Now, I'm using a little, little bit, and my curls are shiny, frizz free, separated, and soft :) I'll definitely try your methods!

Ha ha! At least you tried it and you know what it's like now! :) Lemme know how the rest of your experiments go! Oh, and I forgot to tell you that I like it for SOTC, too. It makes my hair nice and shiny and soft.
