I was gonna vote for flexis. For me, I have only gotten inconsistent results with flat twists, twists, braidouts, etc.

I did the flexi's but I only had ten so while it gave me a nice loose curl the roots are poofy. Also they didn't dry even though I sat under the dryer for 45 minutes AND slept in them :(

But I like the curl pattern so I'm going to buy more and I'll probably get better results by doing smaller sections.

    I'll post pix tonight.

This was my first flexi rod set and it was BLEH. I used curl enhancing smoothie curl solutions gel and curl keeper. Not the right products. It was heavy, greasy, yet dry. I just bought a few products I used to use that did me well from beyond the zone's noodle head collection. I also didn't use enough rollers so I bought 10 more. I'm going to rewash and set tonight I will update tomorrow. I WILL perfect a flexirod set lol

The first 2 pics are from this morning and the 3rd one is when I came home 13 hrs later.

Your hair is similar to mine. I did the roller set to my hair this week and I came so so. The curls were there but I kinda felt that I needed a heavier product to give the curls hold. Did you straighten your hair first? I had hopes for the rollers. I used the purple ones from Sally's

I used the purple ones too. I did not straighten first. But since I used to BKT my hair the majority looks silky and will barely hold a curl. I redid my set last night and will post pics tonight. It came out better with the beyond the zone products and I've gotten 3 compliments at work :)

he first 3 pics are from this morning the style that I wore at work. The last 3 are when I got home and took the pins down. I think I definitely made progress from the first set, but not exactly where I want to be yet.

It looks beautiful. Do you mind sharing step by step what you did? :)

    Of course!

    1. Got purple flexi rods from sally beauty supply

    2. Cowashed my hair with pantene classic condish. Squeezed water out as much as I could. Sectioned my hair starting from one side, from the bottom up. Smoothed each section with a nickel sized amount of beyond the zone's leave in conditioner then their curling creme, then the firm holding mousse. Rolled in flexi's.

    3. Put a big triangle net over them. Went to sleep :sleepy2:

    4. When I woke up I carefully unrolled each section and some parts were still a teeny bit damp. I separated a bit but not much and just pinned a couple of the front curls back with some bobby pins.

I'm going to set my hair again tonight using more of the first 2 products n less mousse. I would like to trim an inch or two tonight as well. I'm so impatient lol.

The 3rd pic is what it looked like this morning after sleeping with it loosely clipped up and tied with a satin scarf.

I just had an idea... I'm going to try to roll "up" so my roots lay against my head more and hopefully that helps with poofy roots.

Your 2nd and 3rd set came out pretty nice! I like the half-up/half-down do you did... very romantic looking.

Thanks I think you just mean 2nd set cause I haven't posted pics of my 3rd set yet. I just cut about 4 inches last night and it's so much easier to manage now lol. I still have a lot of straight damaged hair but this IS the journey right? I'll post pics tonight :)

Wonderful! When I did it, I used only leave in and a lil olive oil( which I never used before, I just wanted some shine) and it came out a lil poofy but my hair is short right now so maybe that had to do with it also. Thanks for the step by step

No prob. Heres the pics from my 3rd set. I found kairox on youtube who is a flexi rod queen and she says to braid the root of each section about an inch and a half before rolling it. OMG it works so well!! I cut 4 inches off my hair last night and I think flexi rods will for sure be my everyday style! Thanks for letting me voice my self here lol.

Those flexirods worked out beautifully on you!! I was inspired a week or so ago to purchase some so I could 'manipulate' my curl pattern and try some new curl sizes. I'm going to finally purchase some because you made me want to take the next step and test it out... When I do do it, I may post pictures! :)

Did you put anything in your hair in particular? Your hair is so shinny, did you put product in it or is it naturally like that or both? Thanks :)
