Are Your Friends Curly?

LeeeahLeeeah Posts: 58Registered Users
Out of my best friends, only 2 of us are curly (well, I'm more a wavy). The rest have bone straight hair that they curl or wave (which is weird considering the past 2 years all anyone in my schoolwanted was straight hair!). The other curly has gorgeous hair down to her waist with nice 3a curls. When she wears it curly, it's scrunched with a garnier gel I think. She isn't CG, but dang she's got nice hair.

How do your curly friends do their hair?

Out of my closest friends, one has completely straight hair, the other has 2a hair but straightens it.. She wore it natural for the first time today and it looked nice. But she refuses to ever wear it natural pretty much. And then the other has 3c hair and she wears it natural half of the time but only in a bun. The rest if the time she straightens it.

Of my close friends, I am the only curly. I have a hair twin at work who wears her hair curly most days. Her office is right across the way from mine. We share tips back and forth sometimes.

Actually, now that I think about it..... None of my friends are curlies. Either they have naturally straight hair or they straighten it. Meh, probably because we're all under 20.

Well this is the teen thread, after all! I have a few friends who have NEVER curled their hair and never will. But a lot of girls at my school got wand curlers for Christmas, so a lot of them are sporting curly hair now, which is nice, even though a lot of them still won't wear their hair natural.:dontknow:

A really close friend of mine has really pretty curly/wavy 3c hair that goes down to her lower back. She's half African American half Italian and her hair is pretty much perfect always (although she denies this) she told me that she deep conditions her hair every week or two and when she gets out of the shower every day she puts her hair in a braid until it's mostly dry. Oh and she scrunched her hair with gel. So yeah thats pretty much it. She's my only other friend with curly hair though haha.

I've been lucky enough to land myself in a group that has all pretty much curly hair except for one who has asian straight hair (Not stereotyping because my other asian friend has like 2a/3a hair!) and another girl. All the others have either wavy 2a hair or something like 3b hair.
Its really nice that they keep their hair natural and we get to talk about different hair products and complain after swimming, and the rest of the group will undertand :laughing7:
    3a curls with a few 3b framing
    Normal elasticity

I have no bone straight "haired" friends. My one friend is like a 2a/2b if she let it dry naturally, but she brushes it to oblivion... My other friend is a 4a like me. :) And we talk about natural hair because she just went natural. I have another friend who is like a 3b/3c, she is always dying her hair it feels like. My boyfriend did have a fro, but then he cut it off. :( I think his hair would be about a 3c maybe 4a if he let it grow out and took care of it. It grows out straight wayyy before curly.

Naturals: they're all around the four type and I have three of them. Another I don't talk to much but she's also natural. This other girl a grade lower and a few others I can't think of.

Curlies: too many to count people at my school they do prefer straight but tons wear it curly and straighten on occasion or just don't do anything. Though most wear it curly most people are really pro straight and think that's the prettiest.

Only one of my other friends is curly, and even though she dyes her hair a lot, it isn't frizzy at all and doesn't look damaged. She's half-Chinese, so that's probably why, because Asian hair tends to be really smooth and glossy. Lucky.

The majority of my friends have super straight hair, straighten it everyday, or have very very slight waves to their hair. It's very annoying to hear them complain about their hair but I'm learning to accept it.
One of my other friends has wavy hair that she lets due it's thing but I think she's been using a curling iron.
And my other soul sister has embraced her natural black hair and is now supporting it. We have interesting conversations where we compare "white girl and black girl curls"

Yes - but most blow-dry & flat iron. However, my closest friend, (who has long 3c curls), wears her hair curly almost always now. She's starting to believe that natural is prettiest on her, and, like me, it's taken her till her mid-40s to "get" that!

My 3 kids have curls, too :-)

Yes, most of my friends have wavy hair. Two of them just cut their hair to collarbone length, so they always straighten it but they both have 2a waves. One of my friends had the most gorgeous 3a dark Darla from Little Rascals curls, but now they're more frizzy 2b/2c waves from straightening it. I have one friend with 3a/3b curls, and they are so completely gorgeous and I'm so jealous of them! They're always perfect and bouncy and red, and she's not even CG. She just uses Pantene I think and they are sooooo pretty and I just want them so much. And i have one friend with 3b curls that she scrunches with mousse but theyre not very pretty. Otherwise the rest have straight hair :)

Everybody I know straightens their hair!! It's so sad! But most of my friends have naturally 2a/2b hair. Although there is one girl with beautiful, down to her butt 3c curls!!! I get so many compliments on my hair naturally though because it stands out from the mainstream. Us teen curlies gotta stick together!:D

My best friend has gorgeous banana curls (She's Half Jamaican, and half British)--but besides her, none of my friends wear their hair curly.
I think I'll be the first at my school to sport Afro-Textured hair, actually. :D

My best friend has beautiful 2c curls. She hates them, and always wears her hair in a bun but I think they're absolutely gorgeous! As for my other friends, flat irons. I don't get it. I always wear my hair down and I love it. I get so many compliments from friends, teachers, family, and complete strangers all the time! If they like my hair so much, why can't they be curly too?

I actually don't have any curly friends, only random people from my school.

Even my 2 sisters have naturally straight hair.

One of my friends are curly/wavy and we sort of have the same hair just mines thicker and hers is lighter and frizzer. Another friend has super straight blonde hair which i used to envy soooo much! Another has dark brown/black hair with a kink in it. Some days I love my hair and some days I hate it. When I do wear it down I do get some compliments but I tend not to because it gets in the way of things when I'm in school.

Within my group of friends I'd say it's about 50% of us who are natural.

one of my friends has wavy hair, which she straightens a couple times a week, and another one of my friends has thick, curly hair, and she somehow gets it to stay straight and silky. Mine doesn't stay straight for more than 20 minutes, and when it's straight, it's too fluffy! D:

All my friends have straight hair and it's so annoying because they don't understand when i talk about my hair...

I would love to have a fellow curlie friend!!! I have 3b hair. :)

I live in Florida, so lots of my friends (guys and girls) have curly/wavy hair, since it's easier because we go to the beach a lot.

Lots of my Black friends have natural hair;curly-afros and even true afros (think 70's) - it's really lovely. My white and Hispanic friends have wavy hair.

I have a few mixed friends who share tips with me, and that's how I started used KCCC.

It's weird. I am the only one of my close friends with any form of curly hair. I'm not joking. And I have a lot of close friends. Also my twin sister has straight hair. Go figure.

It's weird, I almost grew up not aware of the whole "embrace the curls" thing. I thought my waves were like a mistake, or something. Because so many girls had straight hair. Before I was old enough to get a straightner, I would brush and brush and brush my hair wondering why the heck it refused to stay down like everyone else's. Anyone here had a similar experiance?

Now I take pride in my waves which so many of my friends are jealous of. We rock, curlies! :D

I have one friend and she has 3c hair and another friend and his hair is 3b/3c. Oh and another friend has a mix between 2a and 2b but she either straightens it or blow dries it straight then curls it into big loose curls (i wish she would embrace he natural hair cause it looks so pretty on her). The rest of my friends have fairly straight hair.

I have one friend on track with beautiful blonde 3b curls to her lower back. My other friends have wavy hair. One had red 2b waves that he grows out long enough to be seen. The other is a 2a brunette who wears her hair to her lower back. Other than that, everyone else straightens their hair, or has straight hair.

I have the curliest hair in the school. But I just moved to a bigger school so I'm sure I won't be anymore.
