I also got Robert. He and Anna are my favorites so far, so that's good. Of course, I've only seen 2 episodes.

    Got Lady Sybil.

I'm making my way through the first season right now. I kind of have a thing for Mr. Bates for some reason.

I like the actress who plays Mrs. Crowley. I liked her as Mrs. Gardiner in the 2005 P&P. I'm always happy to see Maggie Smith, and found
the Clash of the Titans style reference to be pretty funny.

    I am also Sybil.

I watched both seasons straight through right after Christmas and can't wait for Season 3.
There's an amusing article on Downton Abbey in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette this week by Reg Henry. And he says Shirley McLaine will be in Season 3. That should be fun!

I can't do this until we watch it (I don't want to find out who I am before I know who it is) and the stupid status is LONG WAIT on our Blockbuster list for it to ship to us. :-| List my status as NOT HAPPY. :protest:

If I get desperate enough I may do that. I just hate Mr. Spring and I having to crowd around a little laptop screen when we've got such a huge TV we're used to watching stuff on. I've tried hooking my laptop up to the TV, but it looks awful.

    Thank you for the links!

Are you using HDMI cables? I watch online shows in on my flatscreen in HD. Looks just like regular tv.

How long is the waiting list? Go tell them to move you up on list because you need to discuss it with the curly gurls. : )

The HDMI input on our ishttastic expensive stupid TV is messed up. I hate this TV and wish it would just go ahead and DIE so we can get a new one. :D Can you tell I don't like our TV? :D

If I threaten Blockbuster with the wrath of the curly girls that might just work. :angel11:

PBS.com is also streaming season 2 until the 5th (I think). That's how I usually watch it. They post the day after it airs. Do you Netflix too? Season 1 is there too. I might also check your local library. Ours has season 1 already and it's a small town. I LOVE my library for having good TV on DVD.

I don't know if there's a thread. I did a search and this came up first so that's as far as I got.

I think most of you are just into the early episodes of Season 3, which I watched already (don't worry I hate spoilers and won't say anything). Why does this show have so few episodes? I want more DT!!

First time it said I was Robert, Earl of Grantham.

Second time, it gave me the answer I wanted:

Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham. :laughing1:

We need a discussion thread on Downton. I have held off on watching season three specifically so I could discuss it as it came on and no one is talking about it.
  • PoochiePoochie Posts: 293Registered Users
I really wanted a discussion thread too, but it seems too tricky to avoid the spoilers. Our UK curlies will have seen all of season 3 already, as well as any in the US who have bought or downloaded it. Would we expect them to keep track of which episode just aired, and what happened?

I've accidentally encountered a couple of MAJOR spoilers already, just from being on the internet, and wish I could have avoided them. (Or is it better to be prepared?) Maybe we should just wait until all of season 3 has aired in the US, and then talk about it?
  • greenjumpergreenjumper Posts: 891Registered Users
I'm in the US and I've encountered 1 major spoiler as well!

Idk, maybe we could have two threads? That could get confusing though...
I don't think all of the episodes will have aired in the US mid-February. It'll be a little difficult to talk about the complexities of each episode if we wait until the weeks after some of the episodes have aired.
  • PoochiePoochie Posts: 293Registered Users
I know, I REALLY want to discuss it! In fact, the last 2 Mondays I've talked Downton on the phone for about forty minutes to my friend who is also following it :) but I don't want to accidentally spoil it for anyone online, or encounter any more spoilers myself. Last week another friend, who is Scottish, accidentally told me (in person!) a MAJOR development which has yet to happen... she didn't mean to, she just isn't keeping track of what has aired here.
I'm so tempted to just get season 3 and watch the whole thing, but I rather enjoy looking forward to it.

Thanks for ripping out my soul. I didn't need it anyway.
