Should I use a heat protectant twice?

I plan on straightening my hair in about three months. I blow dry my hair about once every 6 weeks, and I always use a heat protectant. I just discovered Fantasia IC and Tresemme Heat Tamer and Fantasia is excellent for blow drying!

I'm wondering, though, if a need to reapply a heat protectant before flat ironing, or is applying it before I blow dry is good enough?

I have 4a hair, if that helps at all :)

Use twice! Just be careful of the serum because it can get heavy and weigh your hair down, maybe try the spray.

I only use it before blow drying and I haven't had any problems with heat damage from straightening my hair. From trial and error I've found that trying to add more protect-ant after my hair has been blown out and before flat ironing only causes severe frizz and my hair sizzling when the iron hits it. For curlier hair types that are more prone to reverting back, I don't think re-dampening the hair with heat protect-ant after it's already been blown out works very well.

I haven't flat ironed my hair before but I do blow it out once in a while and can I recommend Carol's Daughter Chocolat collection...or just the blow drying cream. I have used Tresseme's heat protectant and Komaza's Shea Butter Lotion (which I was loooving) as a heat protectant and let me tell you that Chocolat is #1. I was having a hard time keeping my hair moisturized days after blow drying and now I don't. This stuff keeps my hair feeling so soft! Also I noticed my hair was smoother and straighter after blow drying which let's me know that when I do want to flat iron my hair I will not have to use too much heat or additional product to get it bone straight.
