So sad :( I was rooting for those two crazy mofo's

No link because I'm on my phone ... But apparently she is is blindsided and it's because of a massive fight caused because he wasn't respectful of her religious parents or friends.

Wow. I don't care for either of them individually, but they actually seemed like a nice couple. I hope they are able to resolve their differences.

I normally wouldn't comment because I don't give a flying fark about celebrity relationships, but it really annoys me when people who truly do have every material thing they could possibly want still can't manage to find a way to just be happy and enjoy each other and their good fortune. And, no, that's not to say that material wealth = happiness. I think most of you know what I mean.
OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!

TMZ is reporting that Brand was the one to file papers, citing "irreconcilable differences." The two were married in late 2010 in India and have, thankfully, refrained from reproducing. Katy Perry's post-divorce plans may include forlornly shooting tears from her breasts and making an album wherein she alternately questions Brand's sexuality and provocatively praises Jesus while licking a candy Bible. Hopefully, this means that Brand will halt his gradual and upsetting transformation from hilarious disheveled British comic to clean cut movie headlining Weird Al Yankovic clone.

Awwwww, I like Katy Perry, not a fan of Russell Brand though. Too bad they didn't work out.

I always thought he was a bit strange though. Just a weird guy.

Yea add me to the Not Surprised camp. They just seemed like an odd, mismatched couple from the get-go.
  • DedachanDedachan Posts: 1,644Registered Users Curl Neophyte
If the OP is really why they're getting divorced, it's a stupid reason to get divorced. Don't people understand there are always going to be differences between two individuals? If you are looking for someone perfect who will never disagree with you, well I'm sorry, but it's a very lonely road ahead for you. There's probably a lot more to it than that, though.

I never liked them together, not for any logical reasons, I just can't stand Perry's music, whereas I do like Russel and think he's funny. But I'd rather he go back to his origins than have his talent wasted on bad hollywood movies.

I am not suprised at all, either. They were a mismatched pair from the start.

As someone else stated, she is a partier and he is a recovering addict. She comes from a religious background (so hard to believe) and he pretty much scorns that entire thing.

Maybe it's because they're always chasing something better. I feel like part of being a successful celebrity is always chasing the idea that you could have more (more album sales, more income, more awards, more projects, etc). In their line of work, you can never be happy with your current station in life because if you're not in the pursuit of "bigger, better, more" then you're well on your way to being irrelevant and unemployed. It seems like today's celebrities also apply this thinking to their personal life as well.

Blame it on the cell phone...

It's not that lame. I do the same. Some one has to make good work out music! In my everyday, I'm more of a slow jams, RnB, neosoul, electronica/down tempo listener, and that music just doesn't cut it during a work out.

He's supposedly bipolar, which would explain some of his shenanigans.

I have to say that Russell has not made any single claim to KPs 10 mil that he could have while she made when they were married, which, of course, he is entitled to.

Hubby and I have had many interesting convos about this subject. I think, and yeah, she had no prenup...he should get nothing, especially since he worked and was doing fine this whole time.

However, one thing hubby and I DO agree on...if you are the one that wanted the d-i-v-o-r-c-e, then you should get n-o-t-h-i-n-g...tg no kids were involved and don't EVEN get me started on cheating ish....
    that is all

Glad I'm not the only one.

So by this logic, if you initiate the divorce because you are the partner being cheated on, or abused, or your partner is a raging drug or alcohol abuser .... you should get nothing?

    No. That's ridiculous.
