Curly in Toronto

Okay, I've been to the Curl Ambassadors and they're great. But I just can't afford them any more, plus I have to wait weeks for an appointment. Have tried Nicole at Sears and Nadine at Chiggy's, not happy with either. Listings on Salon Finder seem to be dated. Can anyone recommend an affordable curly hair stylist in Toronto who won't stick me under a dryer (HATE dryers) and try to sell me shampoo????? I haven't used shampoo for years and don't like being sold something I obviously don't need. Arrgh!!!

Can I ask what stylist you liked at Curl Ambassadors? I like to keep up to date on good curl stylists in Toronto. I go to The Curly Hair Institute in Toronto, but it is not cheap. I try to go longer between cuts so I can afford it - but it is expensive. I wish there was a more affordable option so I could go more regularly.

I used to go to Nicole at CHI...stopped going after about 3 visits b/c I was no longer happy with the cuts she gave me.
I see Kamie at Curl Ambassador in Vaughan and I am very happy. She is great! I have been to her twice in the last year and actually let her do a big chop on my hair in June. She gave me an inverted bob and it still looks amazing as it grows out.
If you can get to the Vaughan location, it is well worth it. I don't think they are as busy, so you can easily get an appt. I think I paid about $90 for my big chop and I NEVER buy any products there, b/c I think they mark the prices up. Kamie totally understood. I HTH's.
My hair is naturally a combination of 3B/3C. No longer texturized. All natural! CG Routine: Devapoo, One condition or Elucence. Loving curl creams: AG Recoil, Mop Curl Cream, KMS Curl Cream and never without CK. Gels: HE SMU and KCCC with a little BRHG on top.
