Oils?

I keep reading about people using oils. What kind of oils does everyone use? How do you use them? Where do you get them? And can the be used on color treated hair? My hair is feeling really dry and I think an oil would help but I am clueless.
Thanks!

Oils are fine on color treated hair.

Different oils bring different properties. What works great on one person's hair might not work for the next.

Olive oil and Coconut can be found at most grocery stores. Some speciality stores carry Avocado, Hemp or Jojoba. Other more exotic (and more expensive) oils like Argan or Camellia seed need to be bought online.

NDA is a good source for oils.

i love using oils, i got a massive collection and use them as i think my hair needs the different benefits. for example, if my hairs really really dry n crazy, then ill use hemp seed oil, if i dont want to weigh it down too much, but i still need somthing for fizz or if my hair has been breaking, ill use argan, for "everyday" use, ill swap between apricot or Macedonia nut oil. start off using a bit and try a light oil, if your hair loves it, use a bit more or try somthing a bit heavier.
ooh before buying somthing really expensive, make sure that you know your hair will love it.

my hair: 3b, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
Oils and my own procuts are my hairs best friend
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.
