Moisturizing twist

Ok so I've decided to wear my hair in twist for protective styling but they become so dry after spritzing w/ water, conditioner (suave sheabutter & almond) & peppermint oil. What products or mixture do you recommend?? My hair hates aloe vera, coconut oil and proteins! Also any techniques on how to retain moisture while twisting? Please help :(

I'm a fan of castor oil; not the expensive JBCO but regular cold pressed CO and a thick moisturizing conditioner (not a leave in) and of course water... these are the only products I use

well sometimes I use Vatika oil

Oh, this is while twisting? I twist on damp hair, with a moisturising leave-in directly applied to the section, a twisting cream used to twist (i.e. on my fingers while I twist) and then I apply a sealing oil or butter to a group of twists. My twists are always juicy and plump on twist day at least and usually for a few days after.
My hair is in the 4s, low in porosity, high in density and coarse. :happy6:

Love: QB - all of it, Bobeam - shampoo bars, Darcy's Botanicals - Pumpkin Seed Conditioner, Coconut Cupuacu Pomade, KBN - Shealoe Leave-in, Oyin - Juices & Berries, Kinky Curly - Knot Today, Ayurvedic treatments, my Denman and the cloud of kinky goodness on my head that I get to play with! :love8:

don't know if you found anything yet but a good thing to try is the Taliyah Wahjid (however you sp it) healing oil. I bought it a couple weeks ago and to my surprise it seals very well. after you spritz or wet your twists scrunch the oil in yout twists and see how it does for you.

    I twist my hair nightly...

On wash day I do maybe 25-30 twists; each night thereafter I do maybe 15-18

Each morning before un-twisting I lightly spritzy my hair with water and then apply castor oil. I wait 5-10 minutes before I undo my twists.

My twist out is really defined and the CO helps w/humidity; I see less shrinkage.

Twisting nightly keeps my hair from becoming knotted; pineappling doesn't work for me.

The light spritz of water isn't a concern because my hair is usually completly dry in 20-30 minutes.
