How much do you spend on hair care?

How much do you think you spend on hair care in a 12 month period?

Since September I have spent $111 on products for my hair care regimen. I've purchased brushes, combs, shamppoo, condish, deep treatment stuff, oils, vitamins, a dryer bonnet, microfiber towels, and more. I stocked up during a SM sale at walgreens so I am praying my products last through March 2012. I assume that I will be spending about $50 every three months on restocking products. So by next September I will have spent about $261 if I can manage to avoid going to the salon.

IMHO, hair is like glasses--you wear "it/them" every day. So, it's worth every penny you spend for "it/them" to look great. The initial expenditure for the non consumables (dryer, towels, etc.) won't be repeated.

When you first join the boards, you want to try EVERYTHING you see. After that, you settle down and have a better idea of what works.

I get a haircut/highlight every six weeks, in addition to wetting, using a rinse out and styling every day. From the icon you selected, I'm thinking you think you spend a lot. It's really very modest compared to most of us on nc.com.

Hm, I only got into CG a few months ago and I just recently got a job, so I don't usually buy expensive boutique products. All of my money is going to Christmas at the moment. But I will try some CJ things after the holidays :)

I probably would spend around $200 on my hair products... let's see. This is all estimation.

Giant container of argan oil: $23 (lasts SO long)
Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine: Probably like 10 of these... 10 x $7 = $70
    Shea Moisture Curl Milk: 5 x $10 = $50
    Renpure Organics lowpoo: 3 x $6 = $24
    GFPC Gel: 5 x $5 = $25
    Coconut Oil: 2 x $10 = $20

Could be worse. I only get my hair cut twice a year, too, so there's that. I also have massive hair. Eats up products like nobody's business.
    whurly girly (2C/3A).
    thick; medium/coarse; low porosity.
hair that is drier than the sahara desert.

    LOW-POO: Renpure Organics
    CO: L'Oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner
RO: Renpure Keratin Conditioner. New HG!
LI: L'Oreal EverSleek Humidity-Defying LI Creme
Styling: SM Curl Milk, Argan Oil for sealing, sometimes GFPC Gel, some honey for hold, TIGI Control Freak Serum!!

I'm guessing around $300. This includes everything: cuts, color, products and tools, plus shipping fees. I don't use the same products consistently, so prices vary.

I think I may have to stock up on the conditioner since it works wonders on my boys' curls. $12.99 a pop is on the pricey side though.

    This is interesting...

    Free hair sticks
    $6 for spiral bun pins
$3 for no-catch rubber ponytail holders
$13 for a Bass soft boar bristle brush
    $10 for a wooden wide-toothed comb
$7 for Buddy Wash hair conditioner (dog conditioner, but what I like about it is that it's really just essential oils and shea--no extra junk)
$3 for Garner Triple Nutrition DC
$5 for Queen Helene Royal Curl Shampoo
$10 for Beautiful Curls leave-in and detangler

So...$57 total, and that's for...maybe 3-4 months? and factoring in that I don't buy new hair tools ever, like $113 a year. I think that's pretty good.

That is pretty good. I'm a Shea moisture junkie and I just brought some off the swap board so I guess I'm stocked for another few months. :thumbright:

I'm just getting into Shea. My hair really likes it, I've discovered.

Whoops, EDIT: no shea in Buddy Wash. Kukui nut oil, that was it. ^ ^; I'm a dork
