every once in a while i wash my hair. i dont no-poo or cowash very often either.

when i do wash i use shea moisture black soap shampoo (i think thats the name) it doesnt strip at all.

do you co wash everyday? if so why so often?

i no poo maybe once a week. i co wash maybe twice a week. i shampoo maybe once a month or every other month, depending on how much product build up i may have.

Not meaning to sound like a smarty pants but... Just because something is natural, it doesn't mean it's good for you..

    ...Skipping the whole lecture..

Please don't give up yet. Usually there's a transition period, but you can just wait it out. Or you could try low pooing (eww sounds gross) or going modified cg? If you do use shampoo, try to use it diluted by watering it down. Does your shampoo have sulfates? At least try to use a sulfate-free shampoo. Were you sure your conditioner didn't have silicones. Silicones can build up and weigh your hair down. If cowashing doesn't work for you, have you tried bs/acv washes?
