NO in November

luvmylocsluvmylocs Posts: 7,578Registered Users
so i went to starbucks this morning, pumpkin latte and a piece of pumpkin loaf costs me over $7 :( i don't do it every day or even several days a week but still....that's too much!

i decided NO STARBUCKS in november! i could stand to save the money and i don't really need the calories or caffeine from their drinks/food.

i'm posting here for some level of accountability!

what are you saying NO to in november??

I might keep on with my no shave. I haven't shaved at all for October. I grow body hair slowly and my armpits are no where near a bush level and I think deodorant is a relaxer for hair...lmao bc my armpit hairs are straight which is a weird, theyre pretty long like an inch but completely straight and thin.

    Yea I think I won't shave still.

No dangerously delicious pies. I have an addiction. After I get my free slice this week, I'm cutting them off for the rest of the year. I have self control, d@mmit!!!!!

I'm going to say no fast food or eating out. Now that I've gotten the hang of this couponing business, there is no need for me to not make food every day.

Girl! Who are you telling? :angry6:

I don't even eat out that much, but when I don't plan ahead, I stop at McDonald's or a taco place to grab something. Which is so stupid because if I'm on my way home or will be home in a couple of hours, I can wait. Who says I have to eat as soon as I get hungry?

I ain't thirsty. There's plenty of fish in the sea, but I don't want all of them, can I have some standards? Or do we just have to settle, for someone's who meh and will do.

No buying sweeties or chocolates for myself. My pancreas will probably thank me.

I'm going to try for no soda. Gonna be a challenge, but I think I can do it.

"And politically correct is the worst term, not just because it’s dismissive, but because it narrows down the whole social justice spectrum to this idea that it’s about being polite instead of about dismantling the oppressive social structure of power.
Fun Fact: When you actively avoid being “PC,” you’re not being forward-thinking or unique. You’re buying into systems of oppression that have existed since before you were even born, and you’re keeping those systems in place."

Thankfully Halloween isn't a massive thing here so no sweeties or chocolates. I'm going to give myself 4 days before I succumb. That'll be down to desperation or forgetfulness.

This was my new year's resolution, I went cold turkey and so far so good. I found that substituting iced tea worked wonders; especially raspberry, yum. :blob6:

i gave up soda cold turkey in high school or college...i went about 5 years with absolutely no soda, not even a taste. then i had one. even then if felt SUPER strong, like i was drinking acid. i don't drink them now. i may have one a year. if it's between that and water i'll drink water but i'm also a tea girl. giving up sodas is doable and once you kick the habit you'll wonder how you even drank them before.

I've been doing a lot of research about going vegan, so I'm going to try not to eat meat and dairy in November. Also trying not to drink ICEEs or sodas.

lol, it's hard to abstain from what was in my original post. it takes the edge off so to speak but i wonder if it's hindering my ability for real-life intimacy. i said nevermind because i really don't know if i CAN do it now even though i might need to....so no...it wasn't a typo. i love corn! ;)

so yeah for no starbucks today! i feel good. the real test will be going for several days, one day isn't a big deal.

no dice on having my rear in my office by 8:30 am though. i slept later, had to rinse my hair from overnight conditioning then had to talk to at & t about why i had no internet last night or this morning. all excuses i know :-( i'll try again tomorrow. what can you do?

No buying lunch. No matter how good my intentions...buying lunch always results in spending $12-15 bucks and I'm like...WTF when I check out. So my goal is to brown bag it all month. I've got protein powder stashed at work so even if I "forget" I'll have something to "eat" and hold me over till I get home.

No feeling sad or crying when someone says "girl u have bad hair". Instead I will gladly correct them and say no I don't just because YOU don't understand my hair doesn't mean it's bad. My hair is beautiful n unique and yours is just plain and ordinary :)

My hair is not nappy! Its natural n curly so don't hate!
