Well, so far it's good... I need to style it myself first before I know for sure, but it seems like it will be good!

She did supersoaker on me, and put me under a hood dryer - both of which do NOT work for me. I need to remove more moisture than that, and then either plop, diffuse, or at least scrunch like crazy before air drying. Sitting under a dryer while my soaking wet hair hangs just weighs down my curls. The top and front are pretty stringy, but the rest is really curly!

Tomorrow I'm going to re-style it and I'll know more then! (may try FSG, too! Will for sure this weekend sometime!)

I'll try to get some pics up if I can figure it out! Lol!

Oh! And I am happy to say she did recommend products for me, but did not at all push them at me! Yay!!

She was very nice and informative, and did a great cut - I just need to see how much a devacut did for me. If it much it wot be because of her.

    I'd recommend her to anyone!

Good to hear! I'll be waiting for the pics. :)

I was supposed to get mine cut today too, but the stylist called to cancel. We're rescheduled for Monday. :(

That stinks!! I'd be so annoyed... Between my schedule, my husband's schedule, and finding a sitter, it is so hard to schedule an appointment!!

This is your first one, right? Looking forward to hearing your experience!

And like I said... If I can figure out how to post pics I will! Lol!

I meant to add that I was not impressed with the deva products in my hair. Maybe she left too mug conditioner in, or my hair didnt like the styling foam, but my hair felt pretty gunky.

Maybe if I had a chance to try them on my own with my own techniques, idk. But overall I have to say I was not impressed.

I really dont like most Deva products either... I do like the DevaCurl low-poo, and the OC is good, but its SO expensive that I cant justify the price (I use a lot of conditioner!!). The styling is the only thing I dont love about a Devacut, but as long as it looks good when I do it at home with my own products, I'm happy :toothy3:

Jas, so glad the cut itself seems like it's worked out for you. I look forward to the pics you post :blob2: ... Totally get what you're saying about Deva products and the way they style hair after the cut.

No-poo and Angell especially just don't agree at all with my hair. Heaven in Hair seemed good but the Mirror Curls gel smells like petroleum and was really sticky, albeit w/fantastic hold. Went and bought it later anyway (my bad) and it's just sitting there in the hallway closet collecting dust.

... Curlilocks, here's wishing you good luck on Monday

She used lowpoo twice as a Deva-detox, just in case i had any cones hiding in there. Then she used a LOT of OC, and left some of it in. (She said "10%".) Then she used the styling foam, and then just some anGEL at the top for added height.

So I don't know which product made my hair feel so goopy - but it was all-over goopy for sure!

But like you said - as long as the cut works with MY products, I'm fine with it!

No, this one's not a devacut, she cuts wet. She's been my stylist for a few years now, and although it's not a devacut, she does a great job! Sandra is a curly, the price is right! :) I still go several months between cuts and it looks good.

Sandra is a mobile stylist but also the manager of a local PureBeauty Salon/shop. They just made her district manager so she got held up looking for a replacement for the shop/salon. Normally I would be mad, but I understand. And she's coming to my home (the mobile part!) so it's not as hard to juggle everything to reschedule. :)

I have had devacuts in the past and was not impressed for the price. I think it depends on the stylist and hair type. I've tried 2 different ones in the area. :(

Ah! Well, my stylist wet cuts (my usual one), and my results were never bad. If your curl pattern is fairly even I don't think it would be an issue.

The verdict is still out for mine. Plopping right now (with my first ever FSG!!) so we'll see as it dries!

Not 100% sure if I'll go again or just go back to my old stylist and then touch it up on my own when it's curly. We'll see! I'll give it a week before I decide so my hair has time to adjust!

Great pics! Your curls look gorgeous! I gotta agree with the disappointment over the Deva products. My hair feels really gummy with them.

Really?? Thanks! Still getting the hang of it, for sure! And I'm still "recovering" from my previous BCG (before curly girl) days, I think!

Still working on retaining the Curls after it dries and throughout the days, tho. Love HESMU gel, but may have to try a couple others to see if any help even more.

    It looks great!

And my hair doesn't like the deva products either. My stylist uses them (she no/low-poos, etc) but I always use my own stuff now.

Your hair looks terrific  It looks healthy too. Not sure what it looked like before, but it seems like a relatively conservative cut compared to a lot of Deva cuts I've seen (including mine). Either way, nice ... good for you!
