doing a sulfate wash-for build up could use some help

I am planning on doing a sulfate wash to make sure it's not product build up. Two questions please!!!
1) Do any of you think that Curls Pure poo is enough to get rid of buildup?
2) If not, any drugstore recs on a good sulfate wash that is CG?
3) To make sure I get product buildup off the entire hair, do I need to scrub/smooth shampoo all through the length, because I've done them before, but I always concentrate them on the scalp and I've never paid attention as to if that stuff runs down and gets rid of build up that's in the hair, which obviously that's where it is more since you scrunch product there. I've never thought of that before. How do I ensure I get product build up off the length.
Medium texture
Normal porosity
Normal elasticity
can get weighed down with lots of oils
Co-wash-trying giovanni wellness
Rinse out: Garnier Body Boost, GVP
Leave-in: none right now, maybe a touch of SM curling souffle
Curl enhancer: AOMM and KCCC
Gel: Kiss my face gel
Low Poo: abba pure and natural, Giovanni Wellness
working on: getting rid of frizz from the get-go

If just done a sulphate wash followed by a DC cause I got it cut today and can't be bothered to ask them to check all their conditioners for silicones. I used tresemme lower sulphates shampoo which seems to have done the job and it's only about £4 in England :)

Oh and try massaging it on the scalp like if doing a co wash then smoothing the suds over the length, maybe use a pinch more if needed.
