Anyone else buy a product just for the smell alone?

I've bought Curls Souffle before, and it was a decent cream, but very thick & really only suited to cold, humid weather (which is 6 mos of the year here). Anyway, [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] works better, but the scent of the Souffle is just divine! I re-ordered it yesterday, knowing full well, I only bought it for the smell: that white chocolate, buttercream frosting smell. Mmmmmm. Ahhhhhhhh.

They also came out with a body frosting w/ that scent, so maybe that will be enough to satiate me.

I get CJ Hibiscus and Banana mostly for the smell. There are comparable leave-ins out there, and I think the Jessicurl WTD is actually better than CJ Deep Fix. But it smells so good that I want to eat it. I also get MAC lipglosses over other brands b/c they smell like muffins to me.

OMG, it smells so good! Like oatmeal cookies. I wish I could eat it! Luckily it works very well on my hair so I am definitely repurchasing this one.

I really like Victoria's Secret So Sexy Shampoo and Conditioner. I mostly use it for the smell...it's perfume for your hair! And it lasts until your next wash! Luckily for me, it keeps my hair manageable and shiny.

OMG, half of what I buy I bought because of the smell! LOL
I always fall for things that smell good. Actually, that's a requirement before I buy a new product, I must open the bottle and smell it!

And I can't tell you how MUCH money I have spent at Bath & Body Works. I could smell there all day!
Money might not buy happiness, but it will buy a shiny red Mustang and you can drive up REAL close to it.

After receiving a sample of the body frosting I bought the full size, since I don't use the whipped cream or Souffle only [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/CURLS-Curls-Milkshake-p-884.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curls-Curls-Milkshake]Milkshake[/buylink] which doesn't have a strong smell. I love the Body Frosting - put it on my chest and shoulders and I can't stand m'self I smell so good

Stop, I've been VERY tempted to buy it because I love ANYTHING that has a vanilla-y, sugary sweet cookie scent for the body! And Curls uses the BEST scent for their stuff!

I bought Lush's American Cream conditioner because of the smell. It is worthless as a conditioner, so I add a quarter-sized glob to my AHC, and it's just enough to scent my hair with a lovely spicy vanilla. MMM!

Yes, AC smells great. I bought the special limited edition AC fragrance through Lush last year along with some 3 other LE ones, and they were all very true to their original counterparts.

It's all about the smell, isn't it??? :D

I ordered CJ Hibiscus and Banana Honey Leave In for the smell...I fell in love with the conditioner and the fragrance!!

I also ordered Curls Souffle for the smell, which is pretty much all I got out of it. At $15 a jar I couldn't keep it just for the heavenly scent so I sold it.

The scent is a selling point, though not the only reason I buy a product.

It also has to have good reviews among the gals here or it has to be lacking in certain ingredients.

OMG--Most of the Curls Products don't exactly work on me, but I'd buy em just for the smell!! The [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/CURLS-Curls-Milkshake-p-884.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curls-Curls-Milkshake]Milkshake[/buylink] and Euphoria Elixir are too die for!! Ah hah! I knew I couldn't be all alone in this. :D

I thought of another product I bought more than once, even though it didn't zero for my curls: Nexxus...something. It was a finishing cream product that did f__all for my hair, but the smell was indescribably spicy-yummy.

Normally, I'm a PJ & something has to have some solid attributes before I'll take that rare PJ action, ie, re-buy something. So it's really rare for me to buy something for scent alone. I can justify the Curls Souffle b'cz that huge tub @ $15 will last me forever; you only need 1/2 tsp for BSL hair. I dropped the last one in the shower, spilled 1/2 of it, & it still lasted 3 mos.

On the other hand, if a product has a yucko smell -- to me, that equals medicinal (Framesi Biogenol; Queen Helene Cholesterol Cond) or sickly-sweet pungent (My Honey Child; Jane Carter) it doesn't matter how well they might work, I keep looking!

Angell! It works about the same as other gels for me, but it smells SO amazing that I prefer it for that reason alone! Low-poo is lovely too, but now that I am off CG I need to sulfate, so I am using the remainder as a delicious, gentle body wash. :D

Jessicurl Island Fantasy! I love her conditioners anyway, but that fragrance is just yummy. I have a jar of her Body Mousse in that scent too.

They don't seem to make that Nexxus stuff anymore -- good thing, now I can't be tempted to re-buy a totally useless product w/ yummy scent.

I thought of another one: Herbal Essence leave-in condnr spray. That great tart apple with flowers scent. Product's OK, but it had the most awful spray top that let out just enough wimpy mist to cover 1/2 of one curl. I actually got tendinitis in my finger from all that spraying once.

I am notorious for buying things for their scents! I am the girl in the aisles at Target getting suspicious looks from workers, as I embarrassingly look to my left and right as I sniff everything in site. It is a sickness really...hehe. Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam is one of my fave scented hair products, and it works great for even this usual gel-lover! It never fails, I always get compliments when I use this. Also, LUSH products keep me coming back for all their fresh smells as well. I SO want to try Jessicurl Island Fantasy after everyones' raves, but I will conquer my waning willpower, and wait until I have some room in my product audience.

Usually I don't buy for smells but I found Suave strawberry conditioner at Target and had to buy it. I used to love the shampoo when I was a kid.

I started out being really in love with the Island Fantasy but I had a sample bottle of Awe Inspiraling in Citrus Lavendar and now I am really hooked on that scent. It's funny because when I first smelled it I didn't care for it that much, but now I really like it.
