Pineappling

in Hair Type 2
Does anyone pineapple anymore? I tried it a few times when I first ditched my blowdrier but ended up with rather poofy hair.
Last night however, I showered kinda late and didn't want my wet hair going all over the place so I tried a damp pineapple for bed. I'm not sure if it's the dampness that helped or the fact that my hair is much longer now, but I have pretty decent hair this morning! Anyone else ever pineapple damp?

I pineapple to get second day hair or if I'm running around my house cleaning. Keeps me from touching it.

What seems to work best for me is putting a loose ponytail on the very top of my head to sleep with. My hair is stick straight up to the tops of my ears anyway so it doesn't really make a difference as far as that. The rest of my hair retains its wave.
I think you might have "plopping" and "pineappling" confused. The high loose ponytail for bed thing you described is pineappling.
For me, the pineapple is a lost cause.
I could see a damp pineapple working for longer hair though. It could reduce frizzing and flattening by keeping your drying hair out from under you.

I thought I saw a link for this somewhere, but haven't been able to successfully search it.
How do you do the pinappling?
Pineappling damp is working again for some reason. Maybe it depends on the weather. Or the phase of the moon. Or my mood.

Somewhere someone had a pic.

I just bend over, shake out my hair so it's hanging upsidedown and then gently gather it in a hair thing. It looks really silly like I have a spout sticking straight up from the middle of the top of my head. Sometimes a few shorter pieces in the underneath fall out but the crown stays lifted in the ponytail.
Does that make sense? I don't see why you couldn't do it a different way if it works better. You can also try a satin pillow case or sleep cap.
ETA: when my hair was shorter I focused on getting the crown up so that it was lifted when I took it down in the morning.
it may not work for everyone and I know my hair is more curly than wavy.
