A/G Re:Coil - WOW! WOW! WOW!

Oh God. So the pj in me went ahead a bought some [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] since I read the thread about Curls Spiral Curls Cream changing their formula. I asked if there was a substitute for SCC and someone suggested [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink].

MY HAIR LOOKS FANTASTIC! I mean, FANTASTIC. Gorgeous curl and wave definition, volume, shine and softness.

If this keeps up (today was the first day I used it) then this is a true HG product.

I took everyone's advice and used only a small amount, two pea-sized dollops total (one for each side and the back).

My hair type is 2/3 with waves and curls, lots of frizz, coarse, thick and on the dry side. Hair hates protein. I am always looking for volume, shine and curl definition, with no crunch and I don't like a lot of hold. I don't do CG but like to use products that rinse out with just water and/or conditoner since I only wash 2 or 3 times a week.

Here is what I did, in detail, in case anyone is interested:

Washed and conditoned (wanted to start fresh) then before I got out of the shower I flipped my hair upside down and added some more conditioner (Suave whatever, nothing special) and scrunched it in to my soaking wet hair. Then I just immediately plopped into a towel and left that on for about 5 minutes.

Took off the towel, parted my hair and scrunched in the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:Coil[/buylink]. Let my hair air dry for 35 minutes, then diffused for about 3 minutes. I added a drop more [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:Coil[/buylink] and used it to twist a couple of pieces around my face.

AWESOME HAIR. I really hope this stuff is consistent because I love it!

Thanks to whoever suggested it!
HG: Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee (always and forever)
Cantu Naturals s & c (shampoo 1x a week), use conditioner as a co-wash every day and LI under my gel.

Air dry then diffuse canapy layers only for volume
Coconut oil before/after coloring grays and on ends.

2b/c mix waves/curls - coarse, frizz prone, med. thick, porous, at-home color, protein sensitive but I still need it sometimes, glycerin-sensitive (I think) in high humidity. After 16 years on NC.com I FINALLY figured it out..

Well congrats on finding something you love in your hair! For the past three years I know that recoil has been the same so hopefully they'll never change it on us. Lovely stuff!

    I KNOW!

It's been around for-eva and I always saw it pop up yet I just never had the inclination to try it. Maybe because some other curl enhancers didn't work so well on me (Curls Rock, I am looking at you as well as some others from Redken and Nexxus) I just figured I had no luck with them.

But this? This stuff rocks and it's CG friendly. Whoo!

you guys are killing me! just killing me!

I hope I get mine this weekend. My SIL was supposed to pick me up a tube and I'm hoping I see her this weekend.

Now I'm kicking myself because I didn't ask her to see if the salon had Fast Food, too.

It is sold in salons. You can find out which ones if you go to their website (agcosmetics.com or something like that?).

    Hi,

Thank you so much for the salon locator link-everyone here is always so helpful!

Now if I can just get my slow computer to load the site  Hopefully there is someplace near me that has it. I found a mall forty minutes from me has Jessicurl, so that's one product line down.

    Take care,

I apply about 2 nickles to quarters size blob (i have long hair, so it depends on thickness and length of your hair) to very wet hair right after applying my leave-in. I smooth it over the whole lengths of my hair while my hair is flipped over , and then again straight up (to make sure I get both the outer areas and underneath) then whatever other product on top (gel, mousse). Then I start scrunching my hair like crazy with thick, absorbent paper towels and plop for around 15 mins, then diffuse. It's good stuff!!

I use it like Lush. I use about a quarter size on very wet hair. I use it either after my leave-in, or I mix it with the leave-in in my hand and apply them together. I rake it through my hair very thoroughly, then add my gel or mousse.

It looks like they just added a bunch of salons in my area, I wonder if they've made a push to widen distribution. I remember looking for it last summer and not finding it within 20 miles; now there are a bunch pretty close by. Yay.
3B, I think w/very thick hair, shoulder length. Fall hair: Low Poo, TS, CK, Aloeba leave in, recoil or RR, plop, BRHG or SMU, no blow dry.

Same here, they didn't have any listed for my area a year ago, and now there are tons of salons here carrying it! No complaints though.

This is waaaaaaay out of my budget and I don't even have a car to go places, so I searched for salons within 10 miles, which I probably would have very little chance to get to anyway, just to discourage myself with the lack of findings. Well, thanks a lot, Joelle! Your beauty supply shop actually seems familiar (like it exists!) and knowing it's close by is killing me now. :x

OK, just got great 2nd day hair with this too.

Woke up this a.m. and after taking my shower (I kept my hair hidden up in a towel so it stayed dry) I just re-scrunched my hair with some water to reactivate the curl (very little water, not even enough to make my hair damp) and used less than a pea size dollop of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] and scrunched it in all over. My hair looks just as good today as it did yesterday.

I think I am in love. Seriously. I cannot get over how nice my hair feels either, so smooth and moisturized and soft. And I love that I only need very little to work.

    I'll stop now...

I must admit, so far I am impressed! I conditionerd with OneC, used about two pea-sized blops of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] on very wet hair, and then used the Aura Hypo-Gel over the top.

The hair on my canopy is curling better than it normally does and it's not even raining today!

    I will keep experimenting.

Yep, I do think it is the Recoil that allows me to go 2-3 days in between washing, and still have it look good enough. And wild_sasparilla, I know it is pricey, because it is, BUT a tube really does last a long time because you use it pretty sparingly. It will definitely pay for itself. :)
