Did a 4-mile jog on Friday. Sunday was just a 1 mile walk. I was pooped :) Hope to amp things up a little more during the week.

So I did weights & cardio yesterday and another spinning class early today. I have to say that I really liked this instructor as well so I will probably switch up my routine a little now and do 2 days a week of spinning, 2 days a week of weights/ cardio and one day of just cardio now with 2 days of rest.

I was a little thrown off when I stepped on the scale today bc I picked up 2 lbs but my measurements have consistently gone down all over and my clothes fit looser. I know muscle weighs more than fat and I have added consistent weight training to my exercise reggie so I'm hoping that accounts for the weight gain?

Anyway is everyone else still motivated and ready for 2012?!

Wow, you're really motivated. Great job! And yeah with your workout routine, I would have to believe the +2 is the muscle factor or maybe just random bloating that day.

Thanks. I'm trying to stick w/it instead of being on that cycle of going strong for a while then falling off again like I sometimes do. I think my gym really helps bc I have such a variety of things I can do and worse case scenario if I don't have anyone to watch my child I can always bring him w/me to the child care center and still get in a good workout so no excuses there either you know?!

You have to be really motivated as well to be running for 4miles! Lol. I'm trying to get back into running too however after my surgery I'm not quite there yet.

So today was another day of spinning and we focused on endurance which isn't as easy as it sounds but was a good workout none the less. I was talking to the trainer as well ab the weight training/weight gain and she was saying the same thing ab the muscle/just general weight fluctuations we have as women. So I'm gonna step away from the scale so much and just stay focused on my goals.

We really don't have that much time left in 2011 ladies!

    I'm in I'm in!
In the summer I feel like a little pudge, winter is when I always get my act together (so opposite of most!)
I'm 5'2, about 122-125lbs, (curvy) and when I'm at my best (usually around March) I'm at about 115 but nice n toned.

Diet is key key key. About 80% of it is what you out in your body.
I mostly do yoga and the TRX workout which is a kiiiiller. I'm so excited to see that on Dec 26th they are opening a TRX facility with trainers, classes and the whole bit included. Can't wait!

I love this thread! Can I join?

I've had about 12 extra pounds for the last year or so, then I started college and gained another 5. When you are 5' tall, 5 extra pounds is a lot! I want to get back to 105 pounds, I feel like I look great at that weight. I really put my mind to it last week and lost 3 pounds! I was going so well, but then the weekend came around :(. Brunch in the dining hall, ice cream, yikes! Then I got a migraine Monday and wasn't able to workout yesterday or today. But tomorrow I'm starting up again, I want to reach my "goal" by 2012. I'd rather start the year on a high note instead of making plans to change it !

I need to be accountable for my eating. I log my workouts on my own thread, but I need to lose 10 pounds to be happy. I've put on weight since I started my anxiety medication,, but I feel so much better I am not going off. My sister even noticed that I was eating more when she was out for a visit at the end of October. I think if I actually write down what I eat I will be more careful about it.

    11/16/2011:
Breakfast - Chocolate Shakeolgy with a banana
Snack #1 - 3 squares of Lindt 70% dark chocalate, handful of almonds, 1 cup green tea.
Snack #2 - 1 square dark chocolate. 4 raspberries, handful of blueberries, 1 small apple
Lunch - 1/2 turkey sw but didn't eat the bread just the turkey, mayo, mustard and lettuce, and about a cup of cut up veggies with a little ranch on the side.
Dinner - hormone free cheeseburer, no bun, with onion, tomato and ketchup. Split an order of sweet potato fires.
Snack #3 - 3 squares dark chocolate (I see a pattern here) lol
Had about 60 oz. of water besides the green tea to drink.

    11/17/2011:
Breakfast - Chocolate Shakeolgy (nothing added except water but that is only because I was out of bananas).
Snack #1 - 3 squares of Lindt 70% dark chocalate, handful of almonds, 1 cup green tea.
Snack #2 - handful of raspberries, handful of blueberries, 1 medium apple
Lunch - PB&J sw w/whole wheat bread, and about a cup of cut up veggies with a little ranch on the side.
Dinner - 2 fried eggs, 1 piece whole wheat toast with real butter and organic jelly.
Snack #3 - 4 squares of the Lindt dark chocolate

    11/18/2011:
Breakfast - Chocolate Shakeolgy (nothing added except water)
Snack #1 - 3 squares of the Lindt dark chocolate, 3 almonds
Snack #2 - medium apple and banana
Lunch - boiled egg, and about a cup of cut up veggies with a little ranch on the side.
Dinner - Manwhich no bread with hormone free grass fed beef, oven baked fries

    11/19/2011:
Breakfast - 1/2 cup oatmeal with 2.5 teaspoons of brown sugar and organic milk, 1 10 ounce glass of water

Of course you can join! Lol.That was totally my point too. I want to either be at my goal weight going into 2012 or wellllllll into my fitness reggie so that I will be losing the last bit of my weight in the new year and not trying to just start one you know? I'd rather be in maintenance mode next yr!

Unfortunately I'm starving and going out to dinner with a friend, bad combination.

I've noticed that if I chart things (weight/measurements and food daily) I tend to to a lot better staying on track. Also when you are about to go out why not drink a big cup of water and have a light snack like some yogurt, fruit, etc so that your not as hungry and will be less likely to go over board?

I wasn't able to get to the gym today:-(. I'm back in school and have a major project due in a few days and just when I was ab to do it I get a call from my child's school bc he's vomiting all over the place so I had to go get him. So I know btwn him and the project I didn't get to I probably won't get bk to the gym until Friday at the earliest. Hopefully those 2 days of spinning will hold me over in the mean time.

I got my zumba dvds last week! I have worked out 4 times with those so far. Two of the workouts have been this week. I'm back on my adkins diet and I can already tell a diff. Zumba is so awesome! I find myself singing the songs during the day and I'm always excited for my next workout. My goal for this week is 3 workouts this week. I'm almost there, and for next week, 5 workouts.

JaylensMami10 - thanks for the advice. I am not going to weight and measure but I will try to post what I eat. Measuring/weighing is way more work than I want to do when it comes to food. I think it is a good practice as long as one doesn't become obsessed about food.

See I think that's key. Find something that you love. It doesn't matter what it is just do something that you enjoy and your more likely to continue doing it. I'm one of those people that needs variety in everything I do because I get bored so easily and I know that's why I'm still so committed to losing this weight and going to the gym. Plus I'm just tired of having that feeling of not being completely happy w/what I see in the mirror you know? It doesn't matter how many times someone else tells me I'm beautiful if I don't feel it it doesn't mean as much and I wanna get back to feeling that way every day on my own.

No problem. I understand. I only started measuring bc sometimes weighing yourself can get discouraging btwn water weight fluctuations, etc. so I figured that weekly body measurements would be more consistent and they have been (at least for me). I used to weigh myself weekly as well and sometimes I still do (occasionally bi-weekly) however I have the bad habit of 'ooh I lost whatever' I can have that treat and I wanna avoid that so if I don't weigh as often I can't treat myself right? At least that's my rationalization. Lol.

Logging your food will help so much on ur weight loss goal!!!! I have a calorie counter app on my fone but livestrong.com is a good 1 online, try setting a calorie goal.
This is from a website I use a lot Answer: There are 3,500 calories in one pound of body fat. You should focus on creating a deficit of 500 calories a day, which over the course of one week will result in one pound of weight loss (500 calories X 7 days = 3,500 calories). This can either be accomplished through burning the calories through exercise, creating a caloric deficit through your diet or a combination of both. I recommend a combination because its the easiest way to incorporate into an overall fitness plan. Work on making a small change in your diet to create a 250 calorie deficit and then add about 30 minutes of cardio training a day to burn the other 250 calories. A great workout will consist of cardio cross training a few exercises such as jogging on the treadmill and jumping rope.

Curlybran that's awesome advice for all of us. I think it's easy to get so overwhelmed w/all of the dieting advice/tips out there that we forget the simple daily consistent changes are what make the biggest difference. Thanks for the advice!

I'm crashing this thread to announce that I lost 25 pounds since January without trying!! I had rapidly gained a lot of weight due to a combination of health problems. That, of course, made me reexamine my eating habits. And between that and being able to be active again, I've managed to lose 25 pounds without even looking at the scale in all that time. Hooray me!! It wasn't effortless--I'm still working on developing better eating habits. But I hadn't set out to lose weight, only to stop gaining weight so quickly. And I was so unused to being overweight that I seriously didn't notice that I was losing!

Congrats! I have learned to let other people's issues be their's and their's alone and to try and not internalize them and focus on what's best for me and my family. Keep up the good work (however minimal that may be LOL) and know that you always can come here for support!

So I haven't been to the gym in a week:sad1:. Between my child being ill, school assignments and then me having an allergic reaction to some medication the gym has been a no go the past week.

I was sure however to remain sensible in my holiday meals. I did try a little of everything but portion control was the main ingredient and I still managed to lose 6lbs! So I am happy about that but I don't want to get too comfortable not going to the gym so idk if I will make it to the gym later this evening or tomorrow but I will get there this weekend! How is everyone else making out?

So I didn't get to go spinning Monday:cry: but I did get a new pair of spinning shoes today. I actually found them locally and they were under $60 which is AMAZING for cycling shoes. I can't wait to try them out tomorrow morning! I will report back on how my spin class went tomorrow.

So I went spinning this morning:toothy4:! It felt good to get back in class and get in a good workout and of course we would be doing another endurance session today:pale: so by the time it was over my butt was numb. Lol. I did however get to test out my new shoes and I guess it will take some time to break them in.

It was weird bc the spinning shoes are meant to be stiff and not bend like the typical running shoes so that takes some getting used to especially when you go to do the jumps during your ride. My one foot was fine but the other foot felt a little numb after the ride. I think I needed to adjust the pedal strap more to relieve the pressure on my foot when I'm standing and riding. Oh well. I'm doing another spinning class on Friday so I'm compare then and weigh in!

It's the last day of November ladies w/only 1 more month in 2011! I have to say that has sparked a fire under my butt bc I REFUSE to take this extra weight w/me into the new yr. It's gotta go! How is everyone doing on their fitness goals?

So I went spinning again Friday but I just used my regular shoes and thankfully I did bc we did A LOT of jumps. I just rested Saturday and today but I'm going spinning again tomorrow.

I also did my measurements today and I have lost 2 inches off my hips, 1 off my waist and a 1/2 inch off my thigh and arm. Yah!

Ok so the plan was to go spinning today and I set my alarm to get up but when it went off I just wasn't feeling getting up at 5am. I still went to the gym later on today and did weights and cardio so I got a good workout in either way.

Ok, so I fell off the wagon for 2 weeks and the thanksgiving leftovers definitely did a number on my waistline. That's my routine: go hard, slack off, quit, go hard, slack off, quit. (I have exercise commitment issues!) I'm hoping that this thread will remind me that I have long-term goals in mind.

Keep up the good work ladies! Congrats on your BC NaturalBeauty. And I compliment and commend you on your weight loss Eilowny.

Jumping on the food-diary bandwagon as well. Let's see if I can shave off a few pounds before January 1.

That's typically my routine as well! Lol. I am however attempting to remain on track and documenting my measurements once a week as well as my weight twice a week and my exercise daily (yay or nay at home) has definitely been helping. Just having to actually write "no" I didn't exercise today makes me feel bad so that's motivation.

I want to lose more weight/tone up before the new year as well but I will keep posting in the thread going into 2012 to keep myself motivated through the new year. Thanks for the congrats! My BC came completely out of the blue bc I was originally planning on transitioning for at least another yr but I'm thrilled that I went ahead and did it. Now I can focus on maintaining healthy hair and my growth goals!

I need to get in on this. I worked out hard all spring and summer, but with my work schedule I haven't been great.

I used to work out in the morning, but that is no longer an option. I need to find the motivation to workout when I get out of work!

    Hoping I will find it...
