Hair killed by prescription drugs

After years on prescription drugs, my hair is poor to say the least. I've always had trouble with shine and texture, but now even when I do every single thing to nourish it, it screams "dead." Anyone else going through this? The medicine I was taking was Klonopin, and I've been off it 4 months and my hair is finally starting to grow (oh yeah, I forgot to mention that it completely STOPPED my hair growth too!)
Very coarse, thick, porous 3B. My biggest challenge is SOFTNESS and SHINE.

Current shampoo: Biosilk w/ added vitamin E
Current conditioner: Lush Okra :love5:
Leave-ins: Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, KCCC
CG didn't work for me. Oils don't work for me. Trying hard to learn how to love my hair. Read my blog.

Well, hair is dead. Once it's been damaged there's not a whole lot we can do. Your hair has completely stopped growing ? If that's truly the case you need to see a doctor asap! Something is up. Or has your hair growth just slowed?
I take a ton of prescription medications- over 25 pills a day plus supplements. Between the diseases and medications, i'm lucky to have hair. Lol!
It's difficult to say if the klonopin is the problem since there's a reason you're taking. Stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, poor diet, etc will all affect our hair and skin too.
Just need to weigh the pros and cons and go from there.
