Transitioning Teen: Should I Big Chop Now Or Later ?

I'm 12, and im 11 months and a few days post relaxer date, i reallly wanna big chop what made me wanna BC was when i did a bantu knot out so i could get an idea of how short my hair would be if i bced and bantu knot outs shrink alot and it turned out good, then i decided i could deal with shorter hair so i wanna bc, do you think i shud do it ? where u a transitoning or are you still ?

Try wetting you hair and seeing what part stays straight. Which ever does that's the relaxed ends and that's what will be cut off if you decide to BC. If its not a lot of relaxed hair left you don't need to BC . Just keep getting Trims and you'll be au naturale before you know it

anywho. i waited.....and trimmed............then one day i was in a really good mood and had just found my sicissors and CHOP.

it all disappeared into the garbage XD i had a few :banghead: moments and then a few OH LORD WHAT HAVE I DONE!

moments, but i can't help but love my twa XDXD (even as it freezes in the winter...)

i mean, it seemed like a great idea at the time...:idea1:

lol, i did read the whole comment, and ur so funny lol, i asked my mom if i could big chop and she said no we will "gradually" trim it, but she never takes me to get trims ! i was thinking i cud do it myself, i have about 4 inches of new growth, i have 3b, 3c, 4a, and, 4b in random spots but it blends well i dont have a whole lot or 3b or 4b so im mostly a 3c 4a ... what did ur parents say when u did the big chop? did they know ? where that angry ?

my parents won't take me to get trims, even when they say they will take me, i have trimmed myself before, but i have to have it straighened, but i haven't straightened my hair in almost 5 months and i dont wanna mess up my curl pattern , its almost like i "forgot" what to do, how shud i prepare ?

lol, i wanna do it in december, because my mom said not right now, but when i do big chop i wanna do it myself, i am only 12 so idk what my mom will say, i think im gonna trim my hair myself (i did it before no one noticed but it did help my growth potential lol) but i have to blow it out and flat iron it, but i havent done it in almost 5 months, so can u guide me through the steps again? do u flat iron ? what heat protectant do you use ?

i actually got 2 inches trimmed off my hair today, well, at least its finally healthy now !
