Weird hair, help!!!

Hey guys! I have permanently straightened hair, which has been growing out for the past year. However, my hair loss rate has kinda increased, so I'd rather undergo transition than subject my hair to more harsh chemicals.
My hair is really poofy when natural, it expands to about 10 times its size (I'm seriously not exaggerating) and has absolutely no curl definition. I used to braid it up until I straigthened it. Does anyone else have hair like mine? Even the parts that are growing out now are majorly frizzy and big. Is that normal?
I live in Singapore (which is in asia), so I don't have access to many brands of curl products. I currently have a tube of aloe vera gel and a can of L'oreal studio line curl power mousse. I'm using the ginger shampoo from The Body Shop and their banana conditioner as well. Thinking of getting their rainforest moisture shampoo instead. Any comments?
Please help guys! I really want healthy and normal curls. Thank you!

Since you've been using heat and chemicals on your hair for a while, it may just take some time to recover. Try braid outs or twist outs for a while and after a few months see how your new growth turns out.

If you've heat a lot or even over did it with the heat once . . it could possibly heat damage.

    Thanks for the replies! =)
I only went for chemical straightening twice, and only air dry my hair. So, not much exposure to heat, unless you consider the sun.
Sadly, I cannot go with braid outs or twistouts even though I think they're cool. My mother will kill me and its not common here at all. Everyone seems to have straight or hair curled at the ends.
Or could it be the sulphate in the shampoo I use? Off to do an ACV rinse now!

Have you ever grown out ALL the chemically altered hair you have?

Yup, I have about 3 inches of new growth. Can't tie it up if I cut it though, so I have to french braid my hair now. :profileleft:
