Dancing with the Stars

Who's watching this season?!

I missed it last night but just watched some of the dances.

Derek is by far my favorite pro so I'll root for anybody that's dancing with him just because I love watching Derek dance! I've always liked Ricki Lake, so I hope they do really well.

Chynna Phillips is a lovely dancer and it would be nice to see Tony do well, since he's never won.

I hope Chaz does really well, he seems happy and proud, and I hope this helps everybody see him as just guy now who has overcome a lot just to be who he is.

And who is this supercute Irish boy that Nancy Grace is dancing with?!?!

I thought David Arquette was really good, too.

I think this will be a fun season!

Carson Kresley was my favorite. He's not the best dancer, but definitely the most entertaining. I hope he's on for a while.

Is David Arquette really goofy or is it just me? I didn't like his personality at all.

I agree with you JennyC on David's personality-just does not do it for me. Something off about him.

I saw the soccer player - wow does have a rocking body huh? And was not bad. I saw Chaz-really liked how happy he seemed and enjoying himself. And I saw Ricki (it is Ricki Lake right). I thought she was good as well. I was channel flipping so I missed Carson-darnit!

Carson was seriously the most fun you can have on a dance floor! Loved Chynna and JR. I was disappointed with Elisabetta because I want Val to stick around. Metta-whatever was about what I expect of any former NBA-ers. They could be great dancers...but in such a short time that's harder due to size. I loved that he seemed to really commit to it rather than the self-consciousness some athletes have shown.

I'm really over Mark Ballas. I don't know if he has become an egomaniac, but it appears that way. I enjoy Maks' pompousness he gets because he makes the performances all about his partners...but I'm tired of the Mark show.

There were no real stand in one place and let your partner move around you dances like there usually are the first week. I don't have a favorite yet, though I think JR is competition for Petra as nicest person ever.

Carson is definitely my favorite right now and I've always been crazy about him.

J.R. did really well and I hope he sticks around!

Artest creeps me OUT for some reason, this is my first exposure ever to him and I don't know exactly what it is about him. He's got that weird I've-got-abs-but-also-a-gut thing going on that was kinda weird.

Chaz did really well so I hope he sticks around too.

Clooney's ex (I can't remember her name) was awkward and she might be the first to go.

David always seems to be on the verge of tears or a nervous breakdown. Hopefully he can stick around a bit because it seems he needs this experience.

DD and I were there for the taping last night, what fun! This time, we were behind, and to the right, of the judges, so we had a great view when the dancers were in the back half of the dance floor, but could only see their top half when in the front. Still, it's great. Highlights for me included: Ricky, Chaz, Carson, Chynna, Hope, and who thought Nancy Grace would move so well? Not me.

Before the show, I could see Billy Baldwin moving around a bit. He seemed excited to be there for Chynna. The Kardashian crew made an entrance maybe 10 minutes before it began. Apparently, they don't have to follow the rules, several of them were texting during commercials, while the rest of us riffraff were told not to bring them in (and they check them at the gate if you do.) I didn't spot Courtney Cox until after, she and Coco were on the same side as us, and there was a pillar in the way. But, after, she and David seemed happy to see each other, they talked while Coco danced around a bit (sweetly, not bratty) for quite a long time. I soooo wish Cher had come!

If you will be watching tonight, there was one thing they prerecorded last night. The band, LMFOA will be on. We were moved down to right behind the judges for this, so we had second row seats to Carrie and Bruno during the performance. Bruno is quite the wild man!

I forgot to add that Tom Bergeron walked right past/in front of us throughout the show. He sat a few seats away when he wasn't on air. He was friendly to everyone. The judges, too, came through a couple times. My daughter was thrilled to say high, and is also routing for Hope.

I missed half of it but I I love david his smile is contagious.

This metta guy I think is kinda creepy the way he was soo into grinding with his partner.

Chaz was funnier than I expected and I was cheering him on.

Ricki looked good, im tired of the kardashian clan, carson is entertaining, I dnt think nancy did to well but she looked to be proud of herself and I love j. r.!!!

    Spring, it really is!

Here's a question for you guys: They made a HUGE deal before the show on how we in the audience were the first (700) people to see the NEW ballroom. Because I've been to the show, I could see the changes. Other than the new and improved staircase and the rising band stage, could you see the changes?

I havent been a regular watcher of previous seasons, ive just seen them here and there and normally wait til later in the season to watch but they roped me in this season with the claim of having bigger stars. I noticed the side staircases but nothing else until they pointed it out.

    So torn.

Derek's been my favorite for a while. Such a fantastic dancer and a cute personality and so adorable.

But Tristan is ALSO all those things AND has an Irish accent.

    Tough. Call.

I've gotta remember to stay out of this thread until after it's aired on the west coast.

    Not gonna be easy!

All of a sudden DH is a huge fan of Artest because he took the mic from Brooke! DH chanted "Run with it, run with eeeeet so she can't talk any more!!!" DH isn't crazy about Brooke and her hostess skillz at all.

Nah...the only time I ever voted on that show was for Apolo Anton Ohno, because I just love him and wanted to see him again the next week!

I saw that, too...I really liked how he talked about his younger siblings being so, "Oh, that's cool" when he told them he was going to officially become a man. I love how accepting the younger generation is...I hope it keeps improving until it really ISN'T a big deal.

Although, I can't watch DWTS on tv anymore, I like reading about it and watching clips online.

I didn't see all the dances. I prefer International Standard over American Smooth so I like a Viennese Waltz that is done mostly in hold and with lots of rotation. I liked Hope's and Chynna's waltzes although Hope was a bit stiff.

Poor Tony! Chynna looks so sweet, but is sooo dangerous! :toothy7:

Tristan is adorable. I really hope he stays. He seems quite patient. I just hope he isn't the new Jonathan Roberts (always getting older contestants).

I thought JR moved quite well. I usually don't let contestants' stories affect who I want to win, but in this case, I hope JR continues to improve because I'd like him to win.
