How do you maintain your curly hair at night?

My hair is about chin length when dry, and I was wondering what do you do to your hair while sleeping on it? Just put it in a ponytail? Or just leave it down? I've noticed that putting it in ponytails stretch my hair, but it gets flat. Any suggestions? I'm a 3b, 3c, 4a mix.

lots of people here do either a braid (which flattens out your hair) or a pineapple which is gathering all your hair on top of your head (there are many youtube videos just type pinappling your hair in the search) as for keeping the frizz away a satin sleep cap or a satin pillow can drastically cut it down
    Lo-poo:organix Shea butter shampoo
    Co-wash: suave coconut
    Rinse out:GFTN/GVP conditioning balm
Leave in: GF daily care spray leave in
    Serum-like product: still need one
    Gel:LA looks sport gel/ HESMU,GFPC
    Oils: olive, coconut

    I think I'm normal-overly porous, medium-thick hair(although I see fine hair too), love protein

Yeah, I've tried the pineapple and I have a satin scarf. I just can't get all of my hair in the back to fit into a ponytail that high yet. I just wasn't sure if there was something for girls with shorter hair. Hmmm... I guess I have no choice. lol

I have tried putting my hair into two high ponytails.. that wasn't so bad, just wasn't sure if there was a better idea that I didn't know about.

    Thanks, Mcfrizzy. :-)

no problem wish i had helped more lol... have you tried pinning the short hair down and wearing a satin head cap...also try sleeping on your side so you dont crush those short hairs in the back too much

I am a fan of sleeping with the satin bonnet on a satin pillow case. Works for me.

I usually just sleep on a satin pillowcase. Sometimes the way I lay my head though stretches out the back overnight and then I wake up looking like I have a mullet  so I'll sometimes use a cap instead. The cap is more like a wrap/tube type thing that I just throw my hair into and it ties around my forehead. It might get a little matted in the cap but I usually have no problems with shaking it all loose again in the morning; it maintains its body better that way too!

My hair is shorter in the back than on top because of a shaping cut I got at the beginning of the year. Instead of doing 2 high ponytails, you can do one on top and one in the back. I do multi ponys and cover with a large satin bonnet. I'm considering buying a satin pillowcase and not using the bonnet to let my hair have more of a natural shape, but I'll see eventually.

Where can I get a large satin bonnet? I went to Sally's and they said they only carry one size. I can no longer fit my head or hair in to the standard size caps. Not sure if I have a big head or if it's the hair. I'd like to think it's the hair. :D

You might have to get creative and make one out of a satin pillowcase

I have the same thing where my curls stretch out when they're in a pony for a long time. All you have to do to fix that is just wet your hands (maybe also put a small dollop of condish on your hands) and run them over your hair. The curls will come back then.

I lucked up and found one at a local bss, but you can order one online. Just Google extra large satin bonnet. You should get quite a few results.

Everytime I wet my hands, my hair frizzes :-( I can't refresh to save my darn life.
