Anybody see Marriage Ref debate about daughter's curly hair?

The most recent episode of Marriage Ref (it's available on demand) features a white father and black mom arguing about their daughter's hair.

The dad likes it when she wears it wild and curly and the mom wants to slick it back with "grease" in ponytails.

I wish they knew about a middle way. CurlyNikki needed to be on this show!
