MODS: Sensitive Profile Information

I don't think it's a good idea to have first and last names, zip codes, etc. available for public view. Plus when you try to change who can view what, it doesn't change anything.

Can that be fixed...like immediately.

If you go to your profile privacy information, you can hide this info or make it only viewable to certain people.

Actually, there's a lot of customizing that can be done using your profile settings. I suggest going there and closely reading the choices you have.

I closely read the choices. The customization didn't stick....not last nite, and I had to use IE to even change the info that was listed. I mentioned that the customization didn't work in my first post.

My point is it shouldn't have been visible in the first place. It wasn't visible, until recently. I usually don't provide first/last name and other info anyway. Not sure why I did when I registered here.

No, it shouldn't be visible. Gretchen is working on it, top priority. We hope it will be fixed quickly.

I agree that it shouldn't have been visible. Technically, it should have defaulted to NOT being visible. It's a shame that it worked out be the opposite.

I hope Gretchen gets it worked out soon.

My zip code is gone, but it just randomly assigned me a birthday.

    ?????

It sometimes does that -- I seem to remember that it's usually November 30.

Click on your name in purple in the upper left hand corner and adjust your birthdate there. :)

I did a Google Advanced Search on my screen name and it brought up a link to a conversation between another member and me. It wouldn't let me see it until I clicked on the "cached" search results. I tested to see if I'd get the same results if I search on another member's screen name, and I did.

It's not that big a deal, since I think the messages were previously visible to everyone (I think). But just FYI. I might be able to rectify the issue by adjusting my setting anyway, but I haven't tried that yet.
