2nd day hair specifically for wavies

wavyveganwavyvegan Posts: 2Registered Users
hey everyone...my first post here =D i've been doing dedicated cg for roughly a week my hair is flat to my ears and then i get waves and spirals id say between 2a-2c.i have bangs, and since going cg haven't been separating them out and/or combing them, on one side they spiral and on the other side they almost make an s but stick straight out to the side...anyway i have a horrible time getting 2nd day hair...no matter what method i try. pineappling doesn't work for me at all...are there any wavies who have a method that works for them consistently? i leave for college in two weeks and would love to get this routine under control before i leave haha.

I think most of us have struggled with 2nd day hair, especially in the beginning of going CG (or mod CG). So you're not alone!! Here's what I usually do-- I scrunch my waves with a wet washcloth, spritz on some Curl Junkie Curl Fuel and scrunch that in, then scrunch in some LOOB. Sometimes I'll pixie diffuse for a few minutes after this and sometimes I won't...it just depends on how well it's looking. You might wanna get a silk sleeping cap and/or pillowcase to help protect your waves. Good luck!!

I spray my hair with a spray bottle of water and then scrunch aloe vera gel (CVS brand) into it while I'm bent over, to encourage the curl. It dries crunchy but then you scrunch out the crunch (SOTC).

I'm wondering if you need a cut with more layers - that might help too. The weight of your hair may be pulling out your waves. Layers lighten that weight...

Good luck & have a great year at college!

It took me a couple months to get decent 2nd day hair. I had to pineapple, wear a satin sleeping cap, and use a satin pillow case (because I would pull the cap off sometimes) and then in the a.m. spray my hair until it was pretty wet with water, scrunch in more LI condish and gel and diffuse.
Now I can pineapple and usually not need to do much the next day, but it took awhile!

I've been doing the washcloth method for awhile! I heard it from another user but I don't remember for the life of me who it was.
