Best way to relax very short 4b hair?

I want to slightly relax my hair when it's at #0.5 or #1 length. Since there still a lot of scalp showing at that length I don't think it's safe to use a chemical relaxer. What are my options? What about heat or some kind of non-chemical cream? Oils (such as olive oil) make my hair soft but does not straighten it out.

If I were going to relax, I would wait until it grows out more or go to a salon and see what they suggest. Maybe Pressing will be your best option until you get more length. I have however seen women have very short hair and it be relaxed. Good luck in whatever you decide to do. HTH!

youre almost a month of from your OP. is your scalp still showing? Have you seen a beautician who can give you a straight answer? What options have you sought out in the past few weeks?

I've shaved it down to half guard a few time since the OP so yes my scalp is still showing barely. I'm not looking to grow my hair out plus I'm starting to bald so I'm not going to grow my hair out.

I'm just looking for a non-harsh way to slightly relax it but I guess there currently isnt a way.

What do you mean? I'm not sure what you're asking.

Why do you want to relax your hair if you're balding? Won't that just add to the issue?
