conditioners for babies/toddlers

i'm a grandmother, and my granddaughters (identical twins) have 3c hair. it is just now starting to really grow -- they are 15 months old. typical of 3c hair, wet it is down to their shoulders, curled it stays on their head!! (no hair on the sides yet!).
my daughter uses burt's baby bees shampoo & wash on their hair/bodies. however, she is finding that she needs to comb out their curls (while wet) because they are getting very knotted.
the question is, what is a safe for toddlers, cost effective conditioner she could use? i think temporarily she'd use an expensive one if she had to til they got a few months older, but if there are cheaper ones..... it must be safe for babies/toddlers.
thanks!
(i did do a search and came up with it's a curl, but it is pricey).

I like Everyday Shea conditioners, which are about $10 for 32 oz. My SIL uses on my niece whois about the same age as your little ones.

Shea Moisture Baby makes a shampoo which is gentle enough that it might eliminate your need for a new conditioner.

i use kinky curly knot today on my little one. i've also had good experiences with the generic paul mitchell the conditioner at sally's.

thanks for the replies. it encouraged my daughter to use what she had for herself (deva one condition, cj smoothing conditioner....) just a little to comb out the knots, then she rinsed it out. their hair already looks different (better) with a rinse out conditioner!

Glad she got some good results! I just wanted to add that I briefly used that shampoo/body wash on my 1yo after we ran out of California Baby and I had the same experience. His hair felt very "squeaky" and was really tangly - it was awful! He has very fine hair, but not much of it except for some 3c curls around the base of his skull. I want to treat them as nicely as I can, so we just stopped using the Burt's Bees and went back to water washing and using Cali Baby once a week.

    Yay for curly babies!
