CURLS Products hit or miss?

MissAnitaBellMissAnitaBell Posts: 12Registered Users
I tried the whole system and found that the Quench Curl Moisturizer left my hair a bit crunchy like gel but other than that this was a super moisturizing product line. It was a hit. What was your experience with it?

Are you talking about the line for Target or the regular line?
I've tried curl q's shampoo and conditioner. Loved the conditioner, but the cleanser didn't do much for my hair. I also tried coconust sublime, but I liked coconut dream better since it made my hair soft. I've tried the hair tea as well and I've only used it twice. I'm not too impressed with it so far. I left it in once and my hair got dry and sticky. I have to watch it with conditioners since I get build up easily. I might try curls gel les'c next.

I'm taking about the regular line of products. I know Curly Nikki uses some of their products.

Liked it the 1st few times I used it, but not feeling it anymore. The creamy curl cleanser made my hair tangle no matter how gently I scrubbed my scalp. And the coconut curlada conditioner smelled great, but didnt have enough slip for me. It works better as a leave in for me. I do love the lavish curls moisturizer. Its a 2nd day refresher. Makes my curls shiny and frizz free without weighting it down.

My 3b/3c hair is dry thick and coarse, I need alot more moisture to keep it soft, than CURLS provides.

I really dig the Curls Creme Brule (the Target line) and I want to try the Curl Cleanser, but I have a feeling that I'd only get a good four uses out of it and would rather try it when I have more money. I don't really care about the washout conditioner because I don't spend much on washouts, and I don't do spray on leave ins, so I don't know about those either. As far as their styling products though (the Creme Brule and their Goddess Curls gel) I'll sticks with that.

I use and like the professional line. The Target products are more expensive ounce-for-ounce, and the only product from that line I liked is the Creme Brulee.

The Gel-Les-C (or whatever) is my favorite product from the line because it is lighter than a gel and really cuts down on frizz for me. I prefer it mixed in my hand with Cashmere Curls, which cuts down a bit on the hold of the Gel-Les C.

The stylers (Whipped Cream and Souffle) don't do anything for me. I like the Milkshake for a leave-in.

The quenched curls moisturizer does not quench my hair's thirst. The bottle is irritating because it sprays in a stream, and not a mist, so it is difficult to distribute.

I prefer the Coconut Dream to the Coconut Sublime because it is cheaper ounce for ounce and it has more slip. I would probably say I prefer all of the Curly Q's line to the women's line.

Really?!! Im going to have to try the Curly Q line now!
And yes the stream instead of spray does suck, but I poured it into a different spray bottle.

Yep - the only product that doesn't have a corresponding Curly Q product is the Curl Ecstasy condish, which I have recently found is a good leave-in.

I am much too lazy to re-bottle, plus I hate to buy a container made plastic that I won't use. I actually have more success with my homemade spritz anyway. The Quenched Curls is the only sure "miss" product in that line for me.

Sagehen, what are your hair properties? Just curious to see if my hair properties are the reason why my hair didnt love Curls.

I love the Curls Gel-les'c, and Coconut Sublime. I didn't like the Whipped Cream or Goddess Curls. I wanna try Cashmere Curls eventually. I don't like the Target Brand Creme Brulee or Lavish Curls either.

4a curls, porous, color-treated, fine strands, not densely placed, always in search of moisture and a shot of protein.

I liked a lot of their products but only repurchased a couple (so far). I had a sample size of the whipped cream and liked it so I just purchased 2 jars with their 30% off code so I can see how it really works. I also repurchased the curlicious cleansing cream.

I used to LOVE the original formula of the milkshake (it was reformulated a few years ago). Since the reformulation it does NOTHING for my hair. I've used a few of the target products and those I like better...I use the refresher and the creme brulee from the target line.

I've only tried the Creme Brule from the Target line and I like it. I mix in a little with my leave-in and get amazing moisturization.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:
