40 Day Challenge!

So, I know there are alot of us out there who are not sticking to our healthy living goals (exercising more, eating right, drinking more water,etc) therefore I thought it would be fun to do a 40 day challenge where whatever our healthy goal is we have to commit to getting it done for the next 40 days & we can post our struggles/progress w/each other. No strict rules...just commit, post your goals & how you are doing at least once a week. Hope everyone will join!
Goal: Get back to exercising no less than 5 days a week, drink my green tea each morning, give up red meat & pork & up my water intake!

I think I will add that one to my goals as well. I have been going thru a rough patch w/my child's father lately which includes me just having left court today. So its been hard to stay positive in spite of it all but I am pressing on!

But thats the wonderful part! Who doesn't want someone who loves them thru thick & thin (literally) LOL! I do understand though. I will get in a routine & be good at it & then fall off & then when I weigh myself again finally I'm like oh no! But thats the point of this thread ...to commit to getting it done which I know we will all do!
I do have a confession tho...sadly I did only half of my goals yesterday (water & tea)...no exercise & I ate pork!...I was crazy busy yesterday & starving! Thats the only reason I ate it bc it was available but thats no excuse!
If I'm gonna do it I should do it all the way. No excuses! I did however go to the grocery store & stock up on more water & fruits today. I had my green tea this morning & am sipping water as I type. I plan on doing my workout dvd when my son takes a nap.

on another note, my hubby swears im as hot to him as the day we met but i cannot get that "im sexy" mentality. like with this extra weight my mojo has died...any of ladies ever feel off ur game or less than attractive?

as a mom ive really lost myself, its always my kids, their dad,my mom and then im left at the end of the list if there is even time to get to myself.i have trouble even getting up the desire to do my hair or make up,heck sometimes i skip shaving lol. but ive gotta say that ive been inspired by all ive read here so im pushing myself, my hair was my fav feature before my last child but i got stuck in the ponytail routine and totally neglected it so im conditioning like crazy,eating healthier,taking vitamins and trying to find my swagger lol, thanks for the inspiration ladies!
So, my goals: continue my diet/start trying to figure out trigger foods, drink 8 glasses of water a day with 1-2 of them being green tea, and do at least 30 minutes of elliptical or yoga 5 days a week.
Not doing great today, though. Diet was good, but not enough water today and I was going to do yoga after work but have felt nauseous since I got home :-/ I am going to go drink a cup of water, make a cup of green tea, and hopefully I'll feel better and can do a few minutes of yoga before bed.
Stopped brushing and straightening in 2008.

My SIL had given me the name of an online site that lets you see all the calories of restaurant/fast food meals as well as an exercise log. I will ask her in the am for them again & post.
I do however like the idea of doing a food diary. At first I was like oh no but when I actually did it & I had a 'bad day' it really helped to see every little thing I put into my mouth...I can always justify that cookie I had and brush it off but you can't argue w/something written in black & white! Plus that bit of guilt I had after eating it along w/having to see the reality of my bad choices made me eat better. I have since stopped but will start again tomorrow.
Like I stated above, the food diary really helps (I even write down what I drink...its amazing how many calories we take in each day just from drinking alone), trying to keep readily available healthy food choices well stocked (already cut fruit/veggies so when I want something I don't have to chop it up. Its already ready to eat, yogurt, special K bars,etc) & not even buying the junk, taking pictures of myself in an outfit I really wanna look hot in & looking at it everyday (sometimes twice a day if I'm tempted to eat something I shouldn't), buying a really cute outfit in a size smaller than I can wear & hanging it where I can see it everyday, posting a picture of myself when I was hot (lol) & have it where I can easily see it & finally weighing myself everyday or no less than every couple of days...seeing if my weight is fluctuating too much helps me stay focused & change any bad habits before my weight gets outa control.

So I just pulled out my new cute mini notebook I purchased from Staples the other week and starting putting together the beginnings of a food diary, weight & measurement log. I will weigh & take my measurements every Friday & Tuesday, will write down my food & drink intake everyday in addition to my previously stated goals.
I'm doing kinda good on my og goals...water intake YES, green tea YES, no pork or red meat YES...exercise NO. I've been sooo crazy busy btwn going back & forth to court lately that by the time I get home the last thing I wanna do is workout. However in order to stay w/my 5 day a week goal I have to exercise everyday for the remainder of the week. I will get this done!

Is it myfitnesspal? I have their app. In general, though, I hate looking up the foods, especially when I cook and I can't find anything remotely similar to my dish. Maybe writing a diary would be much better for me. I don't like caloerie counting anyway.
Confession: I was supposed to start my challenge yesterday but did not. Sigh. It's been a long week at work. I didn't even make it to my spinning class and I love it. The bad thing is that I know exercising will help me de-stress and I still don't do it. I need to focus!
Water intake was better today than yesterday and I haven't had as much starch.

My immediate motivation is just looking better as far as exercising is concerned. LOL. My long-term motivation is health related, though. I have a family history of certain illnesses that I'd like to prevent. Also, one of my sisters is on high cholesterol meds and just found out she has RA. It was my wake up call and a reminder that my body reacts differently now that I'm older.
I'm still trying to find my daily motivation.

Did good yesterday. Great on the food-front, at least 6 cups of water and 2 of green tea, and 35 minutes of yoga in the morning. Eating good today and plenty of water. I've been cleaning all morning which I'm considering my exercise (and I'm not done yet, boo) and I'll have some tea later when I finally get a chance to relax.

I ate ALOT of spinach (which is a plus), plus grilled fish (which was fab btw), however I also had chicken wings, pizza & a few hush puppies...oh the carbs! Oh well...whats done is done, I will just drink a butt load of water for the rest of the night & get my butt bk in gear tomorrow. When you fall off you get back on right?!

my hair has been through a lot of bad cuts and a lot of heat damage due to the desert but in two years time(when the cutting began) i am from ear length to bsb and still growing with two sl cuts last year god is good

I've done well on my water & tea, so so on the no pork & red meat (I had both one day this week...I really need to stop that asap bc eating both aggravates a medical issue I have) & I didn't exercise at all:thumbdown:!
However its a new week, I've already taken my vitamins, had water, am about to drink my green tea & will absolutely exercise today whether I want to or not because I KNOW it will help w/my stress and make me feel better.
