Zuresh - Live Higher, Be Natural

Let's talk about our experiences. Zuresh is a new line for me...I got my products last week, and have been using one daily (Get It Wet). I plan to order again, and try a few new products. They were at the World Natural Hair Show 2011. Hope to seem them in 2012.

What I've tried as of the date of this post...
  • Get It Wet
  • Smoothing Detangler & Curl Definer
  • Ginger Citrus Loc N Twist Butter

Couple of things:
The website needs work. It doesn't "flow", and its not "clean" and polished. It's amazing how that will keep a lot of potential customers away. I just happen to know that a few of the best natural hair care product lines don't have the best online presentation.

The product labels aren't neat, either. My products came with rubbed off labels. Now, THAT matters to me. Waterproof/smudge proof labels should be a given. Sometimes you gotta spend the money, if you want the honey, ya know?

They need to take note of Enso Naturals, for website and label design tips.

Okay...now to the products:

Get It Wet
It's spray hydration for the hair and body. You will have to go to the site, to get the ingredients list. FYI, it does contain glycerin, so if your hair doesn't like glycerin, don't get it.

I like spray moisture mists...always have. I usually use them underneath an oil or butter moisturizer, because they usually don't provide enough moisture to just walk out the door. This one does. It really does. It's excellent.

:love4:

It smells good...like apricot and something else. My pump malfunctioned, so I had to replace it with a trigger spray cap from an empty plastic bottle. I wasn't very happy about that.

Smoothing Detangler & Curl Definer
Like this too. It's creamy and lotion-like, and I wonder why it's in a spray bottle. Because it sprays...you guessed it, in a stream. It should be in a squeeze bottle.

I used it yesterday, after shampooing, as a leave-in under the Loc N Twist Butter. Excellent detangling and it really softened my hair. It dried soft, too...which is always impressive to me.

:love4:

I can't speak on the "curl definer" part, because that's not a concern, and I dont wear wash n gos.

Loc N Twist Butter
I chose the Ginger Citrus fragrance, and I got stopped today, with a "What is that you're wearing. You smell SO good!" Its not a light fragrance, but I love it. It's very thick, but very smooth/creamy/velvety. Very easy to work into the hair. You don't need a lot.

:love4:

The butter contains protein and silk peptides, so again, be sure to read the ingredient description.

What I DEFINITELY Won't Buy:

The Shea Body Blend is $32 for...8 ounces. Can not do. First, that's quite expensive for no exotic butters/oils in the mix. I can get that blend on Etsy for much, much less. Another reason is the packaging is not tight. I can't pay that and my jar comes to me looking like the label got caught in the rain. When you're charging that kind of money, you gotta come strong. Plus, this was going to be used as a body butter, not in my hair. I have enough body butters, too.

Thans Nea. You are right about the web site. The 1st time I went to the site I couldn't find any of the hair products. I realized that her site is a window within a window and I wasn't scrolling all the way down.

My second concern is that she doesn't list ALL of the ingredients for her hair products. Or maybe she does, but you have to read paragraphs of text to find them. I know that the smoothing detangler has more stuff in it than listed, ie conditioning agents. Why not be honest and just list them.

Third, I wish she would have 2 oz samples. But the ingredients thing and the prices will keep me on the fence for now.
Ah...to be a well pampered pootiecat. I can sleep on my owner's lap. Roll over on my back when I want my stomach rubbed. Purr with delight. Suddenly jump off and walk away for no reason. Not respond when I am called. Throw my leg up and lick with intense abandon. Sleep 85% of the time. Hang my head off the couch and view the world upside down.:laughing5:

Thanks for the thorough review NEA. My friend told me about them last year when she saw them at the Essence Music Festival, but there were no reviews at the time and the website turned me off. Hopefully, other people who tried her products will post their experiences also.

I got introduced to this line at the NC Hair Expo. I intended to buy something online but after I saw the website it also turn me off. I am hoping to purchase something from them in the future but they have to get their website together first.

Again, thanks for the review NEA. I was already prepared to buy and yes, that website is more than a challenge but I'll give it a go!

Received my Full Body Cleanser today. Smells delish! I'll be trying it out as a hair shampoo.

Here's what I don't appreciate: They don't let you know when your product ships. They just send it out, and you gotta figure it out. It's hot in Detroit, and it would have been nice to know when my product was arriving, so I could look out for my dimwit of a postman, who would be the one to leave my package on the porch, in the hot, baking sun, and not even ring the doorbell to alert anybody.

I sent them an email, asking for a ship date. Little did I know they had already shipped the product and an attempted delivery was made the same day. Guess they figured there was no "need" to respond to my email. But they should have, because I asked a question.

This will probably be my last order from them, as much as I LOVE the products I've purchased. I'll catch them at the WNHS, if they happen to be there. But I'm not feelin' their lack of personal attention.

Because then it would be obvious that she's using Essential Wholesale bases. I'm not sure if all of her products are Essential Wholesale (it looks like shs adding other things to other bases but for most of these things she doesnt have a preservative listed), but enough of them are to warrant her being cryptic in regard to the true ingredient listings. The names for some of them are even listed the same as Essential Wholesales. There needs to be a list of businesses flat out who are doing this as a reference guide. It's not only dishonest but somewhat lazy compared to other true crafters when pop up businesses are repackaging EW and charging the same prices and then going to such extreme lengths to mislead customers about it (ie: not really listing all the ingredients).

This is very interesting info....never heard of EW but just checked out their website and I do see a similarity in the ingredients listing between Zuresh and EW. hmmmm

I just experienced Zuresh for the 2nd time at the Orlando Natural Hair and Beauty Expo (2013), 1st came across them at the Zora Festival earlier this year. Was very interested the first time at Zora but did not purchase because it was a bit pricey and they did not have smaller sizes that were more economical to try. But I took the plunge this 2nd time and purchased the Curly Headz product for $25.00 ($30.00 regular price). I have to say their was much buzz around their table both at Zora and at the Expo. I purchased the Curly Headz hoping it would be my go-to HG wash-n-go product.....the verdict is still out on that. I need to experiment more with it before I decide. So far I LOVE the consistency and smell of this. But when it completely dries it is a bit filmy at least it is on top of another product I used. Will be trying all by itself...which if it works all alone on my hair it will truly be my HG product.

Have any others tried this particular product from Zuresh???

*Side note* strangely I can not find many reviews on the internet for this product line. It seems they have been working the Expo/Show circuit for a while now and thus more reviews would be available but there are VERY few.
