weaves for transitioning

EdenRoseEdenRose Posts: 181Registered Users
i decided to do a sewn in weave to help with my transitioning. I just have a question what's a good way to remove or take it out myself? And what's a good way to get moisture and good care to my natural hair.
And anyone who uses weaves alot does it really help with growth?
Many thanks.

When you get the choice to sit out or dance, I hope you dance <3

Hair Type: ?
Tons of whirls and curls and coils on my head. My hair's sometimes my best friend and other times we're at odds. But either way it's curls to the end. No need for a relaxer cause there's no reason to stress, my tresses are at their best

Length goal : Shoulder Length :)

i've been using weaves for a looooong time to grow out my hair.
for me it help because i wasn't doing anything to my hair.
my hair grows more that way.

so it might help with your hair growth.
the only con i have found about wearing weave in my experience, is the loss of my edges. maybe i wasn't giving my hair a long enough break in between sew ins or something. but thats the only thing i have bad to say.
i just washed and deep conditioned my natural hair underneath when i took out the sew ins.

When I had sew ins I kept them in untill they were really loose and what I did to take them out was I will find the begining or end of the track and pull it to see if I can see the thred and I would use a razor blade (not an actual razor) or a small pair of hair sissors to cut the thread, but make sure you see the thread and not your hair, if you cut your hair your done for!

it's just mine was done by a friend but it didn't come out the way i had hoped (she told me after she started she hadn;t done it a long time) and i kinda want to take it out sooner instead of waiting 6 weeks. I mean some spots the thread is actually not that tight.

I had a sew in for about 2 weeks lol I couldn't take the weave on my face but I did make sure I moisturized my hair everyday just like I would if it was out. I just rubbed my leave in along my braids and used an applicator bottle to oil my scalp twice a week.
