I thought my fellow wavies might like this tutorial

It would be an easy way to set your hair for a special occasion, protect your curls at night, or keep your hair out of the way during a busy day with the bonus of beautiful ringlets once you let it down.I just tried the headband set, here is the back247501_1393346210718_1744062716_671563_3157740_n.jpgWe'll see what it looks like down
in the morning. This was so easy!260254_1393722540126_1744062716_671905_8332782_n.jpg
The very front is a little flat, so it will take practice, but don't you think its better than this for second day hair? 215967_1341674398955_1744062716_608930_6400799_n.jpg

Looks lovely, and it's just what I needed to see today after I found out that my natural hair texture (kinky-wavy as I discussed in a post today) prevents me from getting a good look w/o setting it.

One question: does the headband give you a headache when you wear it overnight?

I don't believe I would go out in public w/ a hairband over half my forehead like the woman who made your linked video suggested, but I can see it working to keep my hair out of the way while I did stuff at home as well as creating good hair.

BTW, I love the soft color of your natural hair as the gray comes in and gives it a kind of highlighting.
Problem hair: No longer too porous (yay!). 2c/3a w/ lots of natural kinkiness (natural crimping) so resistant to forming defined curls, med. texture, but thinning since Sept. 2011 due to autoimmune illness.

I had no trouble with a headache and slept well, I usually don't tolerate sleeping in rollers. I think this could look very cute if the band was pretty, went with your outfit, and was maybe accented with a barrette
or other ornament. You can also arrange your hair so it covers almost all of the band.

Wow, I was *going* to blow this off and now I see your gorgeous results and I want to try it. It makes you look sort of Hollywood-glam.

It looks really good in the "set" also - nice updo. Your hair always looks pretty.

I was also going to blow it off - but dang, it looks great! Well, crwitt's results - I cringed a little when the lady in the video brushed out her curls (and then complained about frizz!).

I too may have to give this a shot some time. I think my hair may be a little short at the moment. Love your results Crwritt.

Thanks everyone, what nice compliments. This would be something to try on a day when you need to tie your hair back for some reason, maybe you're working out, or its really windy, going sailing or to the beach, cleaning house, etc. Is this what they call a protective style?

My hair is a little below shoulder length but layered, and curves up to about chin length, and it "almost" long enough to put up in a french twist, almost long enough for a ponytail (The front bits hang down).I think I'll be wearing my hair a lot like this when I want it out of my way.
I spent the day working around the house and it didn't budge, and I didn't fuss with it.

BTW, I didn't use the products the gal in the video did, I just dampened my 2nd day dry hair with water and a little Garnier Fructis Curl shaping Spray Gel.
I did brush it out with a damp Denman brush before setting, and just used my fingers to style it after taking it out.

I would love to see your results if you try this.
