This is a rant. If you don't wanna read it, check out now.

Hope 4 Nassie, also known as "Nassie's Hope LLC" on Facebook.

This is what I ordered - NOTE THE INGREDIENT LIST. It's an 8oz jar.

I received a big ole' 16 oz jar. Nice of her, right? Well, the ingredient label is VERY different from what I ordered.

The ingredients (according to the product label): Unrefined Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Nettle Herb infused EVO, Lanolin, Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin E, Black Seed Oil, Vanilla Essential Oil.

Now, is it me, or is something wrong here? Where's the "Red Palm Oil"? Where's the Illipe Butter? How about the Kokum Butter? Lemongrass? Where? Lavender anyone?

Now, I'm not vegan, and I like lanolin in NATURAL hair products, and I don't mind beeswax. But don't you think the Etsy listing varies quite a bit from the actual product label?

I sent a convo, expressing my concern and disappointment with the lack of integrity...don't list one thing, and send something else...and think because you sent a bigger jar, it's all good. I don't like that.

This is her reply:
I sent you what you ordered. In fact I sent you a double the size. I don't post every single ingredient that is on my labels. In addition I work on my product recipes all the time to assure a better product for my customers. I may have updated the recipe but haven't updated etsy. There is no integrity issue here. You ordered shea hair butter and that is what you were delivered. I appreciate your business. Please try the product. I know you will enjoy it. Bless

WHUT? :sign6:
Now, it's a very nice hair butter (fantastic for sealing in the winter, especially) but it's not what I ordered. When did it become okay to conduct business like that? Your etsy listing should accurately describe the products you're selling. What if I didn't like beeswax, for instance? If you change your ingredient list, update your Etsy description to reflect the change. Don't send me something else, and come at me with, "Oh...well I changed the product, but didn't change the Etsy description" and act like that's no big deal. Why would that be okay?

Do we need to conduct a YouTube seminar for these companies? What is wrong with people?

Thats right!! For all she know you can be allergic to one of the ingredients not listed on her etsy site. VERY unprofessional. No apology, and tries to turn it on you by saying "I did all this for you and you're acting ungrateful. Whiny brat. Integrity my foot. And btw I hope you enjoy it"

I never heard of her but since I now have I'll never give her my money

I completely agree with you. How you gon have a product advertised with specific ingredients and not put them in the product? And it doesn't seem like good business to constantly change the formulas of your products. Customers want consistency. I can make my own body and hair butters but I don't have the patience for recipes and it's okay because it's not like I'm selling stuff.

And the nerve of her to say some "Please try the product. I know you'll enjoy it". What kind of self righteous mess is that?! :sad3: I can't

Did you respond back to her?

    :wave:I haven't posted in a while ... Hi Everyone

NEA you are well within your right to be pissed. I can't believe that this vendor thinks this is okay. If you'd had allergies to something that she chose not to list then what? Do they take returns? And the indignant response adds insult to injury in my opinion. Maybe it's not an integrity issue but a lack of common sense issue. If you change the ingredients common sense and concern for liability issues should lead you to disclose that information to the customer before the purchase, plain and simple.

Yes, I did reply back. I informed her that it is an issue of integrity, and that it's her responsibility to accurately represent what's she's selling to customers....update the Etsy site and always inform the customer of formulation changes.

I also told her I wouldn't be ordering from her again.

Ummm what? That's wild. And also very timely because I was about to do a post on an open letter to these companies...because I definitely just got some KBB and the ingredients on my bottle/jar are NOT the same as what is on the site. I thought maybe she just did that with the Sweet Ambrosia because I hadn't heard anything else, but it was the Super Silky and Shea Body Butter as well. I was like...wheredeydodatat?

Yep...it's making me back up off my Visa card, for sure. I'm not playin' with these companies.

Truth is, it's a good product and I'll get much use out of it. But I will never order from her again, because I can't trust that I'll get what I ordered.

Are they out of order or missing ingredients completely? Not that it makes it okay if its the latter. I do remember there being something with the printing of the labels for the jars which was why there were stickers at the bottom with the ingredients. That was quite a while ago. You'd think she have it fixed by now. :sad3:

    Geez at these companies.

I ordered off etsy for the first time about a month ago. It was JELLY BEARY BUTTERY HAIR TREAT 4OZPARABEN FREE by carmelsprinkles.

I just had all sorts of foolywang with this woman. Not shipping in a timely manner because she ran out of ingredients and failed to notify me. I had to hit her up about it.

Like really?! I mean her shipping price wasn't outrageous or anything but if i'm paying for shipping and it's s'pose to take x amount of days why has it been a week.
Telling me she will email as soon as she ships..once again, i had to contact her first.
Not telling me she changed the packaging..i mean not a big deal but i was expecting a light lotion in a squeeze bottle and it came in a jar like one of her other products.

And of course the stuff separates..so i have to remix it before i use it everytime cuz the damn oil is sitting on top.

So is this where we gon put companies on blast? If so I'm down. It's a bit of a catch 22 though because I really don't want to have to experience bad stuff from companies, and I don't wish that on anyone. BUT, I'm glad y'all are bringing this stuff to light because looking at their sites the stuff looks really good and you'd never know the craptastic customer service and lack of interity

Wow, that is so wrong on so many levels! What if you were allergic to something? What if you didn't want or like something in the product you ordered?

Her response was such BULL Dot Com!

Thanks for letting us know about this. I really do appreciate the 411 on some of these companies, it makes me think twice about who I give my money to.

I have had a number of run in's with companies with poor customer service, bad products, and lack of intergrity and it's down right ridiculous. It's making me work really hard to find my staple products now though.

I'm down for telling it like it is but it seems like I get hit hard with the backlash (ie Mozeke and bejiaflornaturals).

It was both. The ingredients on the Super Silky were all willy nilly and out of order, but I think everything was there. Now on the Butter, I got it because it was supposed to have glycerin and I wanted the humectant, but when I got it...no glycerin on the jar. I contacted them about the ingredients of the Sweet Ambrosia many moons ago and they said they were updating the site, yet they can add their newsletter weekly but not fix the ingredients. When I called them, they also told me that the bottles/packaging have the correct list.

This also pisses me off with reviewers - in every single review I have seen of the SA, it is clear that they just copied the ingredients from their site, and they are NOT the same. Do people even read this sh*t? It's like ummm...you didn't notice that??? I can't with them either. Because I know damn well I don't have special KBB bottles where the ingredients are listed differently ONLY on mine.

You should be good. I don't and didn't really have much of a problem with the product (other than the oils seperating, not as much as AfroVeda, check out thepeelingqueen on YT and her review, she still likes it too).

For me it was the shipping and customer service. Plus the rude emails I got from her after doing a video about her products. One subbie had a bad experience with her and she contacted me saying rude things about that subbie, that was so unprofessional, so I don't buy from her.

But I have recommended her stuff to others, sent some stuff to Splinta24 and louloumatou and they really like it, I wasn't going to use it all quick enough. So I didn't really bash her products, they al'ight, but her stank attitude and poor shipping was too funky for me to be a return customer.

@Elle, I noticed that while doing a review on KBB Luscious Locks, the ingredient list on the bottle was jacked up. Some things were even listed twice. I never contacted them or really thought much of it. I just thought it was because of the packaging change from brown, to white, to now black. Gonna have to start looking more carefully at thier labels but I haven't ordered from them in a while.

    What happened with bejiaflornaturals?

I'm still biting my tongue on the whole situation. She sent some long two page email to me. None of it was relevent to anything I had said or any answers to anything I asked her so I just blew it off as a Whateva email. It was the comments about someone else that turned me completely off to her. It was none of my business what went down with Suzie Que in another country but she felt the need to address a subbies complaint to me and not to that subbie or even fix the issue, well she didn't say she fixed it, idk. I really don't know what her intentions were when she sent me the email... But I never responded.

I just don't get it with some companies now a days. Lack of intergirty with both products and their business practices.

But it's a learning experience on both parts. I think since my video came out BFN has added fragrant labels to their packages, so it helps her and her customers. I ordered in bulk, different scents, and they weren't labeled. For me, I learned not to buy from them, LOL

Me neither, I've only ordered the Mask and SA from them in the past yr (I think my Mask was ok compared with the site but the consistency was off), and obviously people are so into kissing her a$$ (yea I said it, I'm mad now), that they either don't pay attention or care to tell people about this stuff. I know plenty of people who have used the SS and other KBB items...and ain't nobody say nothin? Mhhmm ok.

Uhhh yea. We had that other thread about her and people were acting as if we were attacking her or publicly bashing the company. WHAT. Trust me, by all means, I want her to do well and I think the products are pretty good and don't have gross ingredients, but if a company is not doing right by their customers (YES posting incorrect ingredients and/or order is messed up), then we have a right to voice that and let people know. I like how they seem to be stepping up their shipping and have weekly specials, but they still have some work to do.

Sorry to hear about this NEA and I feel everyone's frustrations on this matter. It's serious business as we are putting this stuff on our bodies. We should be paying attention to these things and not feel like villains when taking folks to task on
    1) our bodies
    2) our hard earned $ used to patronize a business.

Her response was garbage and if that product had caused something to happen to you, wouldn't hold in court. That being said, what they're doing is amoral, but these companies aren't regulated, so technically it's not illegal. Its times like these where I'm pro regulation. Not every Tom, Dick, n Keisha should be In business.

re: KBB, my bottles are a yr old and the ingredients correlated, but I knew the formulas changed. Karen denied this to my face when i went to the store, so I stopped buying the milk. The butter never had glycerin in it which is why its awesome during the winter, but i have the old packaging, so I can't comment on new.

It's not only about having things work well, the ish gotta be kosher all around. Period.

And +1 on working on narrowing down my staples more. This type of stuff has made me work on really identifying items that really work vs those that are OK. I can save my money from OK and go stellar.

Nat, I'm talking about the Body Butter, not the Butter Love.

    Ingredients on the site:

Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Butter, Apricot Kernel Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Stevia, Essential and/or Fragrance Oils, Black Willowbark Extract & Vitamin E

    Ingredients on my jar:

Shea butter, olive oil, aloe butter, apricot kernel oil, essential/fragrance oil, black willowbark extract, vitamin E & stevia

    I was like...naw dirks?

The thing that sucks is that it's still yummy as sin, but I'm annoyed.

ETA: Oh and Nat, not sure if you saw the vid but the last bottle of SA that NC sent me was much more like the samples you gave me, not at all like the runnier glycerin laden stuff I had. Naw dirks again!

Oh, my bad I totally forgot you got the body butter. I was confused.

What?! They went back to old formula?! Oh Lawd I can't. This is too much. Folks need to perfect consistency before moving on to new stuff. There is something to be said about having a manufacturer.

LOL the ingredients on the bottle still have glycerin as the second ingredient, but the consistency is totes different.

I don't even know what's in that mess anymore...

You know, when products that used to work stop working, you have to consider it. It's hard to know what's what sometimes.
