Black 2 brown?? Or highlights?

Well.... I had dyed my hair darkest brown last summer and it turned out BLACK!! So I was wondering if any of u lovely ladies have had any experience with this?? I would b very thankful for any advice.

my hair was dark brown with natural red highlights and I started using Natural Instincts to cover grays - and it gradually turned my hair deep black. A few weeks ago I had the color lifted to my original hair color. This was 10+ years of coloring! It took two treatments to do the front, as that is where most of the dying was happening as i was just doing roots in front, not pulling the dye thru my hair.

It was scary but it came out pretty well. And now my hair has a lot more demension. I also had 6 inches cut off prior to this process. when I go back in I might have her do a permanent chestnutty brown put on to even out the tones....... IT can be done . .
