Natural Match

Anyone use this hair color? I don't want to change my hair color, I want to color grays. Since this doesn't have ammonia, does it not last longer than other permanet colors? I wouldn't say I have resistant grays or a lot of gray, so it should work for me, right? I usually use any old cheap hair color, but I got a coupon for this so I want to try it out. Is it a lot less damaging than other color? Thanks.

Blech, awful stuff. There was a thread a while back about this - may want to do a search. Also, makeup alley has product reviews, and this one isn't doing well there either.

I'm somewhat of a haircolor junkie. You name it, I've probably tried it. I have very dark brown hair with about 35% grey. Natural Match did about zero for me. No color, no grey coverage, nada. If you are looking for something gentle and you aren't poo-ing then try Natural Instincts. It's semi-permanent but covers well and takes ages to wash out.

Natural Instincts is a very good product. I only do a permanent color about once every third time. In between I semi-perm with NI.

Thanks for the warning. From reading the other thread and this one, I think I'll stick with Colorsilk. Maybe I should try Natural Instincts. I thought since it was temp color, it would wash away easily, but you say it has good staying power? The only reason why I color is to cover a few grays that come in (on dark brown hair they're very obvious). It seems silly to use a whole box of damaging permanent dye to do this, but I've heard temp color sin't worth the money. I hate what dyes do to my hair though. I swear they've caused it to lose thickness.

WavingNotCurling - I do shampoo, every other day. Do you think it would be worth it to give NI a try? or would it wash out too fast? I have to wash my hair that often or else it gets flat.

I also have dark brown hair with grey roots to cover. Natural Instincts will work best if you:
    a. do not shampoo for at least 48 hours after using it. (you can wet it, just don't shampoo)
    b. Leave it on your hair for the longest recommended time (for those greys).
    c. Stretch your shampoos apart as many days as you can. Maybe think about trying a low-poo or even switch out with a no-poo sometimes.

But, yes, I would give it a try. It's not gonna hurt and it's usually cheaper than regular color. Plus, it hides the grey's naturally (turns them to highlights) and it won't leave an obvious root line since it washes out gradually.

I don't like Natural Instincts b/c although the color may last a while, I think it starts looking really dull and blah.

    I prefer ColorSilk.

I'm 80% gray and use Robert Craig; good coverage and very gentle. Have also used NI but not recently.

For some strange reason I decided to use Natural Match, although I'd read plenty of bad reviews on it. Well, let me add mine. This stuff was HORRIBLE. Not only did it COMPLETELY dry my hair out (I'm talking, the ends look like hay, no matter how much I try to condition it), but it didn't even cover evenly. I've been coloring my own hair for more than 10 years now, so I don't think it was me, but the color underneath, and by my ears, is lighter than the top layer, and the bottom half of my hair.

My hair was so damaged and fried from it, that I probably needed to do some reconstructive protein treatments to get it back in shape. I've been doing co washes only, and using [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Too-Shea-Extra-Moisturizing-Conditioner-p-105.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-too-shea-extra-moisturizing-conditioner]Too Shea[/buylink] for over a month, and the ends still look ragged.
