How long does it take for CG transition?

I went for a DEVA cut on Saturday and my stylist mentioned that it takes 6 weeks or more for the cones to fully disipate.

Is this true? How do I start the process? Do I just start using cone free and sulfate products? Do I need to use clarifying shampoo to start the process?

TIA
*Shampoo - Tresemme Naturals (low sulfate) once every week or two.
*Conditioner - DEVA One (used for co-wash too). Yes To Carrots conditioner.
*Leave in - Garnier Fructis Clean styling cream & gel (DEVA gels are hit or miss depending on the weather. ULTA medium hold gel is also silicone free).
*Other likes - DEVA moisture lock spray, Ducks Clips (spray with gel first), diffuse 30 - 40%.

Hmm that doesn't sound right to me, though I'm no expert. If you used products with cones, you should do a final clarifying sulfate wash. That should get all of the cones out, then it just takes some time for your hair to adjust to being cone free :)

After your last clarifying sulfate wash and then you begin adhering to the CG rules, you're already well on your way.
