Doubt I'll go back any time soon

techmomtechmom Posts: 300Registered Users
So i started cg almost two weeks ago. I am still figuring it out but so far, me likey.

My husband keeps saying I look so young. This is a big woohoo because I have been growing out my hair for about 4 years (it grows SLOWLY) and he has mentioned numerous times that he likes me in short hair. As a compromise I would often wear my hair up for him.

The younger crowd at church has given me positive feed back as well.

I guess that means vanity will keep me plugging along. I placed an order on Saturday for my first "boutique" products. This is a huge deal for me because I am a penny pincher to the core.

I know the feeling! I am hooked too! I REALLY thought I would not be able to do this. I am a bit OCD.. ok, a lot. And very much a germophobic clean freak, and the thought of not using SOAP to wash my hair kind of freaked me out.
But I had to try something differant! My hair was always dry, and even though it looked fairly healthy it definitely was not.
This is my 3rd week, and the difference already is amazing!

I'm totally with you ladies! It's been around 2 months for me and I'm really learning how thirsty my poor hair has been all of these years! Without the "fake" moisture of the 'cones, I never really knew. Poor hair! LOL.

    Besides....I needed a new hobby! :-)

I ordered 3 jessicurl items. The stimulating scalp massage oil (gonna try to speed up growth), and the rockin ringlets and confident coils....can't wait!

Interesting! I have the RR and loved it during the fall and winter. Hopefully it works well during the spring/summer as well!

    Woo hoo! Pics?

Just an FYI...I found the Jessicurl too drying and frizzing (from the mag sulf I think) when I used it initially and shelved it, but I tried it again, this time mixing it with conditioner, and it was so much better. Using a leave in might work as well, though I mixed a pea size directly in with the Rockin Ringlets. So if it doesn't work initially for you, keep this in mind to try.

plunkybug - Did you add the conditioner to the whole bottle or just to the portion for the day?

asianrunner - What differences do you notice in your hair in different seasons? I guess I have not been very weather aware as far as my hair goes. Just curious what I should watch for.

    Thanks to you both!

This is without trying to get clumps. I am forgoing that until my canopy bounces back a bit more. When I clump the canopy is almost straight and I think it is from the weight of the wet hair.

Still needs more moisture but that will come.

The other picture is obviously before...just air dried (I think)

Hi Techmom (see the pun I just made?:geek:)

I mix it with the RR the day I use it, and I mix it in til it is all blended and creamy. I've only tried it with one conditioner, my Kogi Naturals, which is a locally made brand. I have more samples of it coming to see if it was a fluke or what, and I will try it with another conditioner. The other upside was that this covered up the horrible smell of the unscented stuff. I may experiment with the conditioner as a leave in rather than mixing, but mixing seemed to work and prevent my hair from getting tooo dry.

Hi Techmom (see the pun I just made?)

LOL - I had to read that three times before I got it. But I am sure that was because it was 5:30 in the morning.

    Thanks for the advice.
