I am on my 2nd day of modified CG and I have terrible frizzies on the crown of my head.I low poo with queen helene and use the GVP conditioning balm. I then use CVP potion 9 as leave in and the Bioterra gel. (all from sally) I then scrunch it and dry with a diffuser. My frizzes are out of control. Any suggestions would be great!!

P.S. I have never cowashed and don't know if that is right for me. my hair gets weighted down easily.

I have been using that same list of products except for the Bioterra gel and my hair has never been in better control.
I wonder if changing to a different gel would help you.
I've had great luck with the Ecostyler Argan oil gel.
Also, you may be manipulating your hair more than you need to while diffusing it dry, causing frizz.

The only differences between this routine and what I do is the gel and my use of the hard hat dryer rather than a diffuser,
but then this is only day 2 for you, and of course we have different hair!

To calm frizz on top of your head, after your hair is dry, try slightly dampening your palms and running them over the surface of your hair, then lightly coat your palms with a little gel and smooth them over your hair.

I low-poo with L'Oreal Everpure Moisture Shampoo and Condition with Garnier Triple Nutrition. I use Giovanni Direct Leave-in and LA Looks Sport Gel (blue one). The gel is a little strong, but better than the totally twisted by Herbal Essences.

This is only my second day and I'm also fighting the frizz. I'm hoping it will calm down soon. I followed crwritt's suggestions and it seems to have worked. When I got to work, I looked in the mirror and OMG, hello frizz halo. I just put a little water on my hands and patted the top of my head and voila, frizz is seriously eliminated. It seems to be staying away so far.

How are you diffusing? I pixie diffused this morning and no frizz...Reason I ask is because when I first started diffusing it was awful and full of frizz took me some good time and seeing some videos on how to diffuse properly.

I recently tried the angel devacurl gel and it made my hair look like a bird's nest! I guess gel is not for me...

Also, I tried cowashing but deft. not for me, it weighed my hair down like crazy, maybe because I have too fine hair for that and don't need all that extra moisture...?

Thanks for all of the advice. I will work on it tomorrow morning. My hair was a little limp today, i htink it may be all of the product weighing it down so I am going to cut back on the amount of product and see if that helps any!

Sounds like a case of too many humectants and/or possibly some producty frizz/buildup.

I had a lot of frizz issues for a long time. I think I managed to have every type of frizz, all at once.

    Some things that might help:

    - Are you diffusing? If so, try the Pixiecurl method. I get bad frizzies if I regular diffuse.

    - Do you have hard water? I do, and my hair would get really frizzy from it. ACV rinses once a week keep that under control.

    - DO NOT TOUCH YOUR HAIR TO SOTC UNTIL IT IS TOTALLY DRY. I mean it!

    - Cotton pillowcases can create a lot of friction leading to frizz. Try a satin pillowcase, pineappling your hair at night, or wearing one of those satin bonnet things.

    - As someone else mentioned, products that contain humectants can cause frizz depending on what the humidity/dew point is. I never quite understood all that, but some products just don't work for me at certain times of year.

    - A teensy bit of coconut oil, applied to soaking wet hair prior to products, can be helpful too. I found that if I applied it to dry hair it made it look greasy and weighed down, but applied to soaking wet hair it absorbs better.

    - My all-time favorite combo for humid weather is Eco-Styler Protein (the brown one) layered under BRHG. That kept me frizz-free through a wedding held in a 96 degree church during a thunderstorm. Once again, don't touch your hair to SOTC until it is totally bone dry.

P.S. It is normal for your hair to look worse at first when you go CG before it adjusts, and before you figure out the right routine, products. etc.. We've all been there.
