    I love making my family's products too! I've been doing it for the past two years. Now, that I'm transitioning, it's been a bit more of a challenge. But I'm trying to get it figured out!

    I've made deep conditioning treatments, pomades/creams, hot oil treatments and detangling spray for my hair & my daughters. I make lip gloss, sugar scrubs & body oil blends too. I'm going to try making some black soap shampoo soon. What have you made? Do you make products for your body too or just your hair?

    I prefer to buy. I don't have time or patience to experiment with trial and error on various ingredients and/or quantities of the ingredients. I have a low frustration point and have bought DIY ingredients in the past and then never touched them. I either like a store-bought product as is or I don't use it.

    oil blends and whipped butters I make.. oil blends especially are the easiest to make and more affordable to do myself. I also make flax seed gel and brew an herbal tea + aloe juice to use as my refresher spritz. Everything else I buy!

    It all depends on the product. For example, I have yet to really fine a great conditioner so I am now on the search for a great conditioner and moisturizer recipe. I used mayonaise in the past and its great but it leaves my hair funky. But for shea butter, coconut oil, or EVOO or henna I just go to the flea market and buy.

    I personally don't have the time nor do I think I possess the skill of making my own products. I only make pre poo treatments like egg/honey/banana/essential oil mix. I prefer to buy styling products like Shea Moisture and Karen's Body Beautiful. I don't use much product on a daily basis so I prefer to buy products every 2-3 months.
    Products I'm currently :love10::
    • Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia (Vanilla Latte scent)
    • Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk
    • Certified Organic Coconut Oil
    • Karen's Body Beautiful Heavenly Jojoba Oil
      Staple Deep Conditioners: Giovanni Direct Leave-in and Karen's Body Beautiful Luscious Locks Hair Mask :love5:
