I apologize, I am asking what curl type I am. But I have spent a long time studying the board to avoid asking stupid questions so I hope I can be forgiven for the questions I do ask.

I think that I am a 2b, 2c might be pushing it. Could it be that I am not using the 'right" products yet? The pictures at my
Foti page http://public.fotki.com/cmartin1 (psswrd = 2b)
are the result of co-washing with Alagio Hydrating Shampoo and Loreal Kids 2-in-1 Cocoa Smoothie Shampoo (this was recommended somewhere on the internet for its detangling and curling benefits) plus honey. I scrunched with Back to Basics Sunflower Creme Mousse and Garnier Fructis Pure Fix Spray, using a heavy-fiber towel.

I was using the Alagio and Back to Basics products because they were on sale and looked like they could be helpful. But armed with xmas $$$ I am open to spending a bit more cash for the "right" products to avoid resorting to a spiral perm which might mask any natural curl already present. I long for spirals/ringlets but can be happy with clumped curls if I can achieve them.

Also, does this look like some horrific "triangle head", too "producty"?

Lastly, how does [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]AG Re:coil[/buylink] work for wavy girls? Will I regret purchasing it?

Thank you everyone and Happy Holidays!

I say 2c. And just FYI, it's probably not co-washing using shampoo to wash.

    OMG, LOOK!!

    ...It's a siggie.

    No, you don't look triangle-heady. I think you're probably a 2c.

I don't know anything about the other products you mentioned, but I absolutely love [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]re:coil[/buylink]. It's the one cream styler I keep coming back to; I recently splurged on the larger size because I know it never lets me down.

I'd say you are a fellow 2C! Woohoo! I think your hair looks great, but since you asked about it looking "producty", are you feeling crunchy? Try putting on the gel just BEFORE you get out of the shower. If it is still a bit crunchy a little light conditioner added to the gel should fix you right up!

    Looks great!

Wow. I actually have hair envy! You have some gorgeous waves with beautiful definition!!!

Your waves look very natural, not at all producted. Incidentally, my waves are also in thin clumps of strands like yours are.

I have the same kind of
fine, wavy hair with lazy waves. Sometimes lanky spiral curls underneath when the weath is very humid. My waves are capricious like me! Presently using Burt's Bees condish, FOTE AVG with honey or Mop Top gel.

At least 2c. I might go so far as to say 3a, a lot of those look like broken up spirals :)

Weeklyish shampoo with CO's inbetween to keep down the grease.

Your hair is sooooo pretty! I agree, I think you are at least a 2c, and you may even get curlier.

I just purchased the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] but haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know how it goes for me!

Actually I think you hair looks a lot like mine. I say I am 2b/3a because of the texture my hair has a definite medium texture, it's sort of silky and straightens quite easily but can also curl up if the weather is right. (which here in DC is always)

You are very close to having 3a hair. I call mine Wavycelli, that's what I think you are. 2-3a
My hair is a mix of 2b/3a and even a bit of 3b thrown in! I would call my hair wavycelli. It curls most when I leave it alone after wet scrunching. My hair has a spring factor of about 2 or 3 inches and has a very silky, medium texture.

Tried [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]Re:coil[/buylink] this weekend. Overall, I liked it... my hair was soft, I had more volume and curl definition than I have been getting, and I got pretty nice second day hair.

There were two things I was unhappy w/ - the way it felt in my hair wet (kinda dry and producty) and that my hair got a little "poofy" on the second day. I used the product by itself, so I think if I use it w/ my gel these two issues may be helped.

I obviously need to give it another go (right now I'm trying out some JessiCurl stuff), but I'm certainly glad I bought it, and I will be using it again.

    HTH!
