Silicone free serum?

greenandchicgreenandchic Posts: 2,584Registered Users
I'm looking for a silicone free serum hair to "refresh" second day + hair for either WnG or twist-outs to help with frizzies, etc. Glycerin is fine, just prefer it to be down on the list.

I think some might suggest Zipporah Beautys Vanilla Serum, gotta check the ingredient list to see if and where the glycerin is

what about Curls in a bottle by Curl Junkie?

+1, CIAB is really nice, I've used it as a refresher for WnGs and I have no complaints.

Haven't thought about it, thanks for the tip! I guess I assumed the consistency was heavier since its not in a bottle...

To refresh wash n gos, I usually use a light creamy leave-in that absorbs quickly. My hair usually doesn't like CIAB on dry hair, go figure. I use:

    Curl Junkie Beauticurls LI
    Curl Junkie Smoothing Lotion
    Donna Marie Cocoa Hemp Buttermilk
    Oyin Hair Dew
Donna Marie Super Buttercreme (although this is a bit heavier and takes a bit longer to absorb, but maybe only ten minutes)

For twist outs (which I still can't get to last longer than two days so I probably suck) I don't use anything water based. I smooth pomade down on my part and/or fluff out with a light oil.

Great list, thanks for composing this. I do like the Hair Dew on dry hair...
