Products after BKT

I had my first BKT done today and I can't wait to wash my hair and see what my curls are going to look like. The stylist told me I needed a specific shampoo, but the price she was charging for it was ridiculous. Another stylist told me that any product I use from now on must be sulfate free or my hair will fall out. Would you ladies be kind enough to share what products you use in your hair?

TIA!

I made it! Tailbone length stretched, WL curly

Teri Laflesh's book "Curly Like Me" sits on my desk and everytime I get frustrated and an impulse tells me to shave my head, I look at it in hopes that one day my hair will graze the top of my butt.

    Hi!
Your hair will NOT fall out if you use a regular shampoo after a BKT! The reason to use sodium free products is to protect the actual treatment. Sodium Chloride will remove the BKT.

Yes, the products the salon will sell you are expensive. I have been using Burt Bee's Products, with no sulfates and Sodium. You can find them at almost every super market, Walgreens, etc. And they are affordable. Read the ingredients in the back so that you can make your selection. Now I am using the Color Keeper Green Tea &Fennel Shampoo & . (I always alternate) I also use Loreal EverPure or EverStrong but some products on their line have Sodium Chloride lately.

Hope this was a bit of help!

A bit dramatic from the stylist claiming your hair will fall out! They must get commissions on the products they sell! I have used a few different products to shampoo. I alternate with Loreal Everpure and Deva Low Poo. I just picked up the organix shampoo for keratin hair. Not my favorite smell, but it is made for BKT. Its cheap too and on sale this week at Walgreens.

I have a Brazilian Blowout and use the One 'n Only Argan poo, conditioner, masque, and treatment oil. Found them to work very well and didn't break the bank. :-)
