Does this sound like a problem with protein?

I've been working my way through the different Suave Natural scents. Been buying the big bottles and they last me at least 2 weeks cause I just co-wash with Suave. I saved the tropical coconut till this week for some reason. I wasn't in too big of a hurry to get to it after hearing of some people have protein sensitivity and stuff. Been checking the other things I use already over and over and haven't had any issues so I figure they are all okay.

This morning I used the tropical coconut. I knew something was wrong when I rinsed. At first it felt like I couldn't get it all out then the more I rinsed the more tangled my hair felt. It started to feel icky and dry. I went about with my RO, I use GVP, left that in while I washed up then rinsed that out and my hair was no better. So I started all over. I had a bottle of VO5 right there so I co-washed AGAIN and did my RO AGAIN. Not much better. I used more LI than usual and my HETT on top but my hair really looks like crap today. So we'll see what happens tomorrow morning. But my hair was just so tangled and actually felt dry while it was wet. Does that make sense? Fortunately I only got a small bottle of Suave coconut so I'm not worried about it. I can shave with it if nothing else. Does that sound like it was the protein in the Suave coconut? I've tried to be careful with my ingredients.

Your symptoms do suggest protein sensitivity to me. I looked at your product line up all protein free besides the cjcccc. That has wheat protein, maybe you can tolerate wheat protein.
The old formula of the Suave Coconut has silk protein, they recently changed the formula not sure if this is true for the new formula or which formula you have, so in short it may be the silk protein you are sensitive to.

I did notice that the bottle I have lists silk amino acids in its ingredients. So, instead of trying one more time just to make sure I am just going to go with your assumption of sensitivity to silk proteins. Yeah, my cjcccc doesn't seem to cause me any problems. At least I know what to be on the look out for now.
