Straightening Hair With Milk!!!?

curlycue3curlycue3 Posts: 36Registered Users
Okay I was researching natural ways to straighten your hair so that i can reduce the heat damage when i want to switch up my look. I came across several articles that said to use milk. Supposedly, you take 1/2 or 1/3 cup of milk to completely saturate your hair then comb through and detangle any knots you have. Sit for 20 minutes (or 1-2 hours some say) then shampoo and condition your hair. And your hair should be straight? Has anyone tried this? I hope it works because my hair is currently all milky and wet! :thumbleft:

It epically FAILED. :sad10: One source said it wouldn't work for extra curly hair but i didn't listen that was only ONE source afterall. Unfortunately it was correct. I suppose If you have a softer or what we may call wavy textured hair it will work. This is not a method I will be reccommending for any type 3 or 4 hair types.

Awh, that sucks! I might be trying a clay mask soon. Apparently it can loosen the curl, but I'm not doing it for that. You might want to look into it though!

i know milk and plain yogurt can help loosen curls patterns a little if u use them as DC's i believe, but as far as making our hair straight.... lol you know that would be too good to be true.

and besides, how would we get our awesome curls back if it were to actually work:thumbup:
