What does KCCC play well with for you???

So we all know that some products play better with others. KCCC recommends using all their products together (as do most lines) but I was wondering....what does it play with well for you?

I just recently discovered that for me, it plays REALLY well with Cure Care conditioner from Sallys. Cure care is oil and butter free, with very few ingredients, but works really well for my hair. I used it with the KCCC and ended up with very soft, smooth wurly hair.

So how about you?

Nothing. The only time I get it to work well for me is when I use it with nothing under it...not even a leave-in (I even tried KCKT w/o luck). I can put a bit of KC spiral spritz scrunched over it but that's it.

But most days KCCC doesn't work very well at all for me. It seems to be very, very touchy stuff.

Really? With SS CEJ? I thought the 2 were similar with Aloe being the main ingredient. Interesting that you like to mix them.

Ry I don't seem to have any issues with rinse out's and KCCC. It's mostly what LI I choose. In cool dews I like KCKT best but when they get to be like 20 and below I prefer either Lustrasilk, CJ CFix or Curls Milkshake

I use it with.... NOTHING. I use JUST KCCC - no leave-in, no curl creme, no other gels or jellys. I have found that, for some reason, if I condition with AOHR, it doesn't work well. But, it works really well for me when I use CJBSC. That's all I'll use when I do use it - CJBSC and KCCC. ...Crazy, eh? :D

Here's one day when I did that...

I dunno, my hair is weird! ;)

Someone suggested it on another thread and my hair responded really well to it for some reason. Lately, my fav combo has been mixing SS CEJ and DM Miracurl gelly together which somehow seems to negate the glycerin in the DM?? I had to shelve the gelly late fall because it was one of the products that gave me the "flash drying" feeling.

    Thanks for the input guys!

I hear ya, Del.....I have issues with LI's generally anyway. I actually like KCKT as a CO wash but sometimes use it as a LI too, mostly in winter.

Racerwife, LOVELY hair! Yep, that's pretty much what I end up with if I use it by itself too.

Asianrunner, I'm going to have to try CEJ with it AND with DMMCG (I have had issues with it FOREVER and am trying to figure out ways to get it to work some until I can use it up!)

Hmmm I'm not very scientific with it, especially since it's hard to tell how much I get out of the KCCC tub. I'd say it's about a dime's worth of KCCC and just a little more CEJ (then the KCCC) for each of section of hair, which ends up being about a third of my hair.

I'll pay closer attention next time I do this combo! :)

I got some samples yesterday and used it with KCKT and got pretty good results. Nice frizz free clumps. The only issue I had was that when I applied, it felt "squeaky" and my curls felt kind of waterlogged, although my drying time was about the same.

Anyone know how it works in high dews? Or second day hair?

asianrunner, I tried mixing KCCC and SSCEJ this morning, and so far, I like the result! I had used a decent amount of leave-in, then the KCCC/CEJ combo (mixed in my palm, raked and then scrunched in), then topped it all off with a scrunch of LALCG/BRHG. When I was scrunching it all in, I was thinking, "Rustina, what are you doing? Your hair is going to be a producty mess!" but it actually came out very nice. Less frizz than I've had over the last few weeks, which is a welcome change! I'll have to see how it holds up through the day - that is the real test of any product or combo for me. It seems like everything looks good as soon as I SOTC, but I have to give it a couple of hours to see how it holds up.

At any rate, this combo may be a keeper. Thanks for the tip!

I've tried KCCC in high dews many times and it's always a bust for me, never quite figured out why but it just makes me poof like crazy :disgust: I'll probably end up trying it again this Summer though just to see if my hair has changed. I love it for 2nd day, mix it with some Med hold gel over spritzed hair works great. Sometimes I add a little KCKT depending how the frizz is.

Daily Fix as your LI? :? That can't be right........you must mean CFix?

Rustina how did it turn out?? I can't imagine using CEJ would make your hair producty. I did try this but didn't notice any difference in my hair :) since CEJ/FHG works for me in milder dews I'm just gonna save it to use later on. I have tried B-Leave in mixed with KCC and that works well too when I want a little extra protein.

I also just tried mixing KCCC with SS CEJ and it's really nice! I have well defined curls with the least amount of frizz I've had in a while. At first it felt producty but i think i tend to get "frizz free" confused with "producty" :D

It worked great! Like mountaincurl, I had some good definition, and the frizz stayed largely away through the day. I still had some - I always have *some* frizz - but not nearly the usual amount. Yay! And it wasn't so much that I thought the CEJ would make me producty, but by the time I was scrunching in my 5th product - I used LI, KCCC/CEJ, and LALCG/BRHG - I was afraid I had overdone it. Thankfully, that was not so!

I didn't think it could do that either, but it suddenly started making my hair look and feel VERY producty. It went from working like a charm every single time I used it to producty frizz. I tried adjusting the amounts, but no dice. I've shelved it for now. I can't figure out what happened.

I haven't read the responses yet here, but I have another post on KCCC - I used Suave as a LI and I got dryness by the end of day.

I used it successfully last summer over everything.

Yesterday, I used it all alone and it was LOVELY - and today I rewet (after pineappling last night) and I LOVE it soft shiny clumps and hold.

Yep. I LOVE DF as a leave in! It smooths my hair out and tames frizz. It's weird, because my hair get weighed down easily, but not so with DF.
