i grew my hair out for about 3 or 4 months getting it trimmed every 2 weeks or so... no one is my family liked it but i really did. listening to others i decided to cut it off but now i regret it. to only make matters worse my little brother began to grow his hair out when i cut mine and EVERYONE loved it. i want to grow my hair out again with my curls looking like his. is it possible? also, i have dry hair and scalp. what can i do to achieve this look?

I have on the Blue Shirt and my brother the green shirt.

haha! i know what you mean. most of family likes my hair the natural style.

i've done almost every style at some point.... but my grand mother does not like it, lol. everytime i see her, she's like, "you my Prince. I liked your hair when yo had it long."... by long, she means permed/relaxed.

anywho... the picture must not have posted.
products: after everything I've tried & loved, I'm now down to just using yes to carrots conditioner. i actually just rub it on my hair while dry, get my hair moisted up with just that, then carefully finger comb/seperate sections of my hair (takes about 15-20 minutes). after that, i hope in the shower, let the water hit and shake-rinse my hair and massage my scalp. once out, i simple let my hair air dry. every now and then, i'll use a diffuser.

btw, pardon my all lower case. i just love 'em.

i have always kept away from my hair, if growing out, in it's normal state, as i didn't know how to manage it without it being such a hassle. i didn't know how my hair worked because i was always doing other stuff to avoid fooling with it. but now... now that i learn more and more as each month goes by, it's becoming a walk in the park and much easier and pleasant than all the other stuff.

my family loves it.... i just have to win my grand mother over... and when the length really kicks in, i kno she's going t give in, haha.

here are some pics of where i'm at now. it's basically a year's worth of growth but i cut the ends of my hair 2 weeks ago to get rid of the color on my ends. (never again will i have xolor in my hair) my tips were so rough compared to the untouched hair. now there is hardly any left on the ends after cutting about an inch and a half off:

aww, thanks a ton bekkapoo & dailymantra. LOVE!

@cb11 have you matched up your hair type yet with the air type system? it'll help to see how your hair type will look at various stages of length and also techniques for certain styles, etc.

Why am I lurking in the men's section? I don't ever come in here. But I just had to say those coils are so purdy!

Good luck with your growth man. I'm growing my hair some more too. I cut about an inch off couple weeks ago. I think summer is the best time to grow it cause the weather is warmer and more activity keeps the blood flowing. Also we drink more water in summer.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! Both me and my brother grew out our hair and he recently cut it but I still love mine. I've been growing it for about 7 months and get compliments all the time. However, most of the people in my family tell me I need to cut it and some have even made fun of me saying my hair was a wig (NEVER THAT) However, I never let anyone get me down about it cause I know it looks good. If you want to, I think you should definetly grow out your hair again - at the end of the day its up to YOU what you want to do with your hair. Your the one that has to live with it!

here's a pic of my hair that I took today to show you how much I have:

Hi Mixedkid_alize...I absolutely love your hair! Me and you have similar hair types and I want mine to look like yours. Like you, i am also a 3b-3c...anyway...I have been growing mine for only 2.5months now since my last haircut. What products do you like for your hair? What do u recommend since we do have similar hair types?
I noticed that when i leave my hair alone and don't put grease and stuff in it, my hair LOVES it. Seems like grease and oils mess my hair up to an extent. What has been your experience?
